and aside from signing demar there isn’t really any evidence that AKME is good either

What the horsefeathers kind of hot take is this?

Without Theo being around for forehead heroin injection purposes, some people need new outlets for their doomboners.

yeah I’m spiraling but arguably the two biggest decisions personnel wise are the Williams pick and the vuc trade which grade as wildly incomplete/bad

billy has been pissing me off for two months now, no adjustments at all so that’s another incomplete at best

It’s not like we drafted James Wiseman over LaMelo. We had the fourth pick in a 3 player draft and we went for upside. I still have hope for PW. Worst case he should be a solid 3 and D wing.

The Vuc trade still isn’t bad imo. And the general consensus at the time was that it was a solid trade.

Mostly agree on BD. He seems stubborn to make adjustments. And why is DJJ out of the rotation? He’s still much better than most NBA coaches and has served his role as a bridge out of being an absolute joke of a franchise.

We need Lonzo. Look at the transition offense stats with him vs without. The 3 point shooting. The help on the defensive boards. The pick n roll defense. Everything we have been terrible at over the past 2+ months is what Lonzo does best.

I’m not terribly high on Patrick Williams but think the ceiling is still there. There is no one drafted 5-11 that I would definitely take over him. Halliburton at 12 is the first player and he was always considered a late lottery pick. Hard to blame AKME too much there. I also think a 19 year old that just missed 5 straight months needs a little more time to evaluate than 5-6 games.

It's way too early to judge the Patrick Williams pick. Even if it turns out to be a bust who would you have taken in that spot?

My biggest issue with Donovan is that he refuses to bench Vooch late in games. I'm no genius but he's pretty worthless in crunch time. He doesn't rebound particularly well and he's not good defensively. All the shots are coming from Deebo or Zach so why not put Thompson in?

First thought is that Vooch's value is bringing a big defender out to the perimeter to open up the lane for the guards to drive. Totally agree he hurts you on the other end outside of soaking up rebounds, but Vooch's ability (or at least threat) on the PnR definitely gives more options than someone like Thompson just crashing the lane.

So many bad takes, but that's pretty common here and not just unique to this thread...

I feel like people should go back and watch this. A lot of the positive comments from Kevin O'Connor still hold true in regards to Patrick Williams. He's still super young (20) and has a high ceiling. Other teams were asking about him in trade packages for a reason. I wasn't super high on him leading up to the draft, but it was a good pick and he still has plenty of time to develop and improve.

Win jumps the Bulls up to the #5 seed

1-4 is so tight too that I don't even know what seed I want the Bulls to get. Philly is the 4-seed right now, so that's a terrible 4-5 matchup. Milwaukee isn't any better. Ideal path to the ECF is Boston and Miami in some order, IMO. Obviously, both still really good teams (and Boston is red hot when they play their full roster) but I don't see the Sixers or Bucks as a team the Bulls can beat right now. Maybe they take a couple series for PAW and Caruso to get back to full strength and finding their spots in the rotation, and I'll take my chances then. But right now, I'm hoping they finish 6th if Boston or Miami ends up 3rd, and I hope the other finishes 2nd. I don't want play-in vs. Brooklyn at all, so 6th is the lowest I hope they go (should be safely in top 6).

Damn. DeRozan missed a FT that would have gave the Bulls a lead with 3.5 secs left. Now OT. If the Bulls win they’ll be 4 games up on the Cavs with 5 to play

Pat made some nice plays down the stretch. Pretty decent cushion from the play-in at least now. Hard to root for anyone when we could be the 5 or 6 seed and 1-4 can end up in any order. Just avoid the Sixers and Bucks in the first round if at all possible. A competitive, fun first round series will suffice for me this year.

With Atlanta's win tonight, the 10 playoff teams in the East are set. 3 way tie for 8th, which is a big deal because the 9th/10th place teams will have to win 2 games to get the 8 seed.

Amazing performance from DeRozan again.

So, I know this will be the best season of his entire career when people look back on it after he hangs it up, but I really hope he can be like 80-85% as effective next season. Probably need to explore trading Vooch in the offseason (and pray for better health for Zach + sign him to an extension), while also getting another strong season from DeRozan -- that will all be vital to the Bulls' chances next year.
