Clay Helton fired by USC.

File this under my earlier post, “how are these programs continuing to be down?”.

Posted
I'm not saying Helton was Saban but for his own fan base having no faith in him, but it's always been interesting to me that he won a Rose Bowl in his first full season and a Pac-12 title in his second and by the middle of his third season everyone wanted him fired and never stopped.

there are several interesting games this week from a B1G perspective.

Cinn at Indiana

Purdue at ND

Auburn at PSU

Mich St at Miami

Mich St and Purdue have looked really good so far against meh opponents. Indiana is a huge question mark right now. PSU offense was really bad against Wis. Was it PSU or was it Wis defense

Will definitely sort out where the big 10 is relative to other conferences. I'm rooting hard for PSU. The new Auburn coach is an antivaxxer and just an horsefeathers of epic proportion.

It's on, OMC. Call me nuts, but I really think Tulane has a chance in this one.

Yeah, maybe. They certainly scared the hell out of Oklahoma. I still don’t really know how good Ole Miss is this season because I don’t think Louisville is that good and there’s really nothing to be learned from a blowout over Austin Peay. The Tulane game will be a decent indicator of how good they are or are not.

Oklahoma beat Nebraska by 7. The same Huskers that lost to 1-3 Illinois. Lucky for them the whole Bevo conference sucks this year. Maybe Iowa State can knock them off.

I watched a good bit of that game. Nebraska is a sloppy, undisciplined team. They might have won if they had even half of their offensive penalties.

Dan Mullen might be the only coach in America that can make me want to cheer for Saban. I never thought it would be this close.

Certainly didn’t look like it was going to be close when Bama was up 21-3 with the ball and had scored on all three possessions.

Yeah, Tulane got ambushed. I knew OM would score, but I expected the offense to put up points too. Maybe OM>OK.

Just finished watching Fresno State and UCLA. Sorry Navin, that's the best game of the year.
