And in order to get a good SP we're probably gonna end up giving up the same or more than we got in return for Darvish anyway. And this team deserves to be buyers.

 

There's a lot to be positive about in terms of changes to player development and under the radar acquisitions. But the organization should be absolutely ashamed of that trade.

Doesn't throw a lot of pitches, doesn't go deep in games, doesn't strike batters out, doesn't throw a lot of strikes...

I'm confused. What is Andrew Chafin doing so well to earn Ross' unshakable trust? He doesn't miss bats, his K-BB is 10th in our pen, his SIERA and xFIP are about a run and a half or more above his ERA. Why is Brothers in the doghouse; thats the question we should be asking. Why are we seldomly using the guy who's 2nd behind Kimbrel in K-BB? What teams essentially dispose of guys who strike out 40% of the guys they face? Even his walks were mostly in clusters. He's been good. Undeserving of pitching once a week.

 

Zach Davies was horsefeathering pathetic today and has been mostly all year. Inefficient, got barreled several times. Why did he get the 5th inning? He gave up a laser to a horrible hitting pitcher. He gave up well-struck singles to start the inning, got bailed on a pickoff, and proceeded to walk the next guy, another shitty hitter, on 5 mostly uncompetitive pitches. He didn't horsefeathering have it, yet Ross let him unravel unchecked for some reason.
