Really? For $2.5m more than we paid Trevor Williams we could have gotten Lester who couldn’t pitch much worse than what Williams has given us.

Really? For $2.5m more than we paid Trevor Williams we could have gotten Lester who couldn’t pitch much worse than what Williams has given us.

 

Williams has decent peripherals and better actual stuff. Plus minor league options if we want to shoot him down to Iowa to get straightened out. Lester as a franchise hero would have had to get run out there every 5 days pretty much regardless. That's why I really didn't want him back.

Jim Hickey is the pitching coach for the Nats. What was the deal a few years ago where he just left the team? I don’t think it was health related. I remember it being a weird situation.

Jim Hickey is the pitching coach for the Nats. What was the deal a few years ago where he just left the team? I don’t think it was health related. I remember it being a weird situation.

I'm not sure we ever found out. He went to the Dodgers as an off-field person in 2019 and when the Tampa Bay Times talked to him about it he just called it a "parting of the ways" and didn't go any further.
