Well, that’ll do it. Disappointing end to the homestand but this team just isn’t very good so we shouldn’t be too surprised.

Never change, man, never change

In fairness, while I haven’t changed, NSBB has become more negative, on average.

Nico is very fun to watch, but it’s going to take a lot for me to ever see him as a key piece on a contender. Too many scrappy middle infielders from 2005-2014.

yeah, he's more similar to Ryan Theriot than I'd like to admit

if the cubs bullpen of recent years has taught me anything, it’s that you really can never have too many relievers that have no horsefeathering idea where the plate is

Cubs last 8 series against Milwaukee

Cubs are 6-2 in the opening game of the series, but their series record is just 2-6 (and one of those 2 wins was in a series where they lost the first game, so overall they are 1-5 when they win the first game of the series).

Overall, the team that has lost the first game of the series has gone 6-2.

I remember in 2016, Max Scherzer came to Wrigley and the Ben Zobrist hit 2 homers off him by like the 4th inning. Now, if the opponent’s best SP takes the mound, you know the Cubs won’t even score a run. It’s sad.

We still won the aggregate for the series 18-12 though
Who the horsefeathers cares about this horsefeathers.

The fact is, the Cubs have 3 games this year where they scored more than 5 runs, and in each of them, they annihilated some back end of the roster shlubs. They could very well make the playoffs or the make the play-in again; but we know who these guys are and what we can expect if that pitcher is pumping gas and staying up in the zone.

No one does. My post was dripping with sarcasm

Sorry. I thought it maybe was but wasn't sure.
