Glennon today just further proves to me that a sizable part of our QB woes over the years is horrible coaching. Whether it’s terrible scheming, poor OLine play, whatever the case may be, Glennon isn’t a different guy. He just sucked horribly with the Bears but looks serviceable on a 1-13 team.

Maybe but it would be good to see how his play is affected if the Bears managed to get within 5 feet of him

Yeah I’m watching the line and not seeing anyone come off a one-on-one block on pass plays. JAX has a good plan with the quick throws but still, I expect way more and it’s not happening.

glennon looked fine at times on the bears too

there isn't some magical affliction that gets coaches and quarterbacks to suddenly forget how to do their jobs here. bad quarterbacks are easy to find. good ones are hard to find. the bears have had lots of bad ones, and mike glennon is one of them.

No affliction, just bad through and through. Glennon never looked like this and they kept dropping him back to get clobbered. No thought given to this kind of scheme with quick throws. He’s decent at it.

Nay, not buying the standard explanation anymore. Bears can’t coach QB, can’t scheme QB. It’s not the entire problem, but a significant part of it. That said, at the moment it looks much better in terms of scheming to Mitch’s strengths. Maybe this is where we finally take a serviceable guy and give him a shot to hang in the league.

Throw the ball away you fool. How many times do you have to do this crap? Your job and your coaches jobs are on the line.

Gannon says Trubisky is too smart to do that. Uh no he isn’t.

I’ve seen a lot of dumb passes from bears qbs over the years and that’s near the top of the list

Mitch has had a ton of those this year, I mean over his career. 2 or 3 in the red zone. The one that got him pulled for Foles was about as bad.

what isn't there to buy? what the hell are you talking about? the bears have had lots of bad quarterbacks. it's the bad quarterbacks and the difficulty in finding good ones. the coaches they bring in don't suddenly forget how to coach quarterbacks. they have had plenty of guys who would have (and have) coached the position just fine. it's the players and an often underwhelming commitment to spinning the wheel in hopes of drafting/finding one.

mike glennon hasn't done anything spectacular today, and believe it or not, the bears did complete some passes and even score touchdowns when mike glennon played. in fact, he almost helped them upset the defending nfc champion falcons in week one that year.

You seem to be arguing Bears coaching is just fine offensively. Not a position I’d plant my flag on, but OK.

Did you see the Glennon pick? He's bad, too.

the bears have had bad coaches and good coaches. there have been many coaches. what they haven't had is a good quarterback and that hasn't been because of coaching.

Hahaha...what the hell was that pass, then that other pass, then that defense?

Well the last 2 from the Jags was just the 1-13 in them rearing its head. Mitch’s throw was a Trubie special. It’s like you don’t want him to gain TOO much confidence because then he starts to think, maybe now I can do what never works.

Gotta get something more from a less-than-special QB than we have. That’s all I’m really trying to say here. What do you see today BTW? Knowing Mitch will never justify his draft position, this is how I’d like to see him used to maximize what he can give us.

Still want to say that Glennon looks much better than he did on the Bears?

The only thing Bears fans love more than a backup QB is a white RB no matter how bad they are.

Down by more than one TD, needing to drop back in the pocket and survey the field, in an attempt to load the team on his shoulder and engineer a comeback?

No. He looks exactly like he did with the Bears needing to play like that. Never said he would suddenly better in that situation.

He had about two good drives in the first quarter and has basically been ass since then (until we put in the 3rd/4th stringers)
