The Illini are ranked 8th? I've been completely checked out on them for a couple years. Are they back, back or is this kind of getting lucky with graduations?

We'll have to see how the recruiting continues, but it's definitely on the upswing.

Until today, the Illini record for points in a debut and points as a freshman was 22 by Brandon Paul. Miller had 19 in the first half.

They’ve had about 3 great recruiting classes in a row and have two likely lottery picks in their starting lineup.

They’re long, deep, athletic, defend well and can handle the ball. The only real weakness might be outside shooting, although they’ve looked fantastic in their first two games against lesser competition.

They play Baylor on the 2nd for their first real challenge of the year.

Indiana looking good in the Maui Invitational against Providence early on.

The B1G is stacked this year. 11 tourney worthy teams (all in KP top 37 right now), but with the lack of early games, it'll be tough to get them all into the tournament.

New AP poll has 3 B1G in the top 5 (Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois) with MSU in the top 10.

Race Thompson with 23 and 13 today. Joey Brunk is out with a back injury, so he got more playing time than usual, but if Thompson can play anything close to this, IU will be a very good team. They will still struggle to shoot 3s and from the FT line, but seems like a lot of teams in the conference may have that issue.

nobody cares about illinois putting a beatdown on duke?

I care! Love it, although not sure how good this duke team is.

Hope we take care of business against methsourri this weekend.

That was incredibly fun. And we were even pretty sloppy with the ball, though going 7-11 from 3 counterbalanced that. Trent Frazier looked like he'd never seen a press before. Kofi needs to play stronger because he's not gonna get the calls at his size. Curbelo plays very young. Giorgi and DaMonte have been spectacular thus far.

This was a perfect follow-up after the loss to Baylor, for which there really wasn't any shame.

Oh yeah, kicked their collective asses last night, was fun to watch. Curbelo despite 5 TO's looked good, Miller, DW - who's been particularly impressive, hopefully, they've blood in their eyes for Missouri. It would great to see an Illini beat down of those fucks especially with Miler and Curbelo shining, I especially despise Martin and Mark Smith. I do believe if Underwood has the chance he'll run up the score on them, I know it's not usually practiced but, I don't think he has much respect for Martin and Smith.

Best play from last night might have been Giorgi body-ing All-World, Dookie, 5 star recruit Jalen Johnson to the hoop for an old fashioned 3 pointer.

who are the 2 potential lottery picks on illinois that people reference? I dont like college sports, but my dad went to Illinois and I'm desperate for a sports team to follow right now.

Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn(pronounced co-burn) are Illinois’s 2 stars, though Kofi’s back to the basket post game is unlikely to translate to being a high NBA pick

Coupled with what appears to be weak hands, constantly get the ball knocked out his hands whenever he brings the ball down. Of course, much of that may be attributed to the Hack-A-Shaq "defense" that's permitted to played on him.
