Nah, we are due for a random 10 run game where everyone feels like things are back on track, followed by scoring 2 runs total the rest of the weekend

Is the magic number based on the Cardinals playing 60?, because unless I'm missing something shouldn't it actually be 1 knowing that the Cardinals wouldn't make up those 2 if it was only for seeding? The only way the Cardinals end up with a better winning percentage is if the they win 3 and the Cubs lose 3.

It is because the Cards have the tiebreaker over us. Cards win out with the DH they get to 33. Cubs lose out after today and they get to 33 also.

ETA: I posted something the other day from a Cards beat writer saying they would make up the game for the division because it would change home field.

It's 8-0 and his next start is in the playoffs. Save the bullets.

If he gets his ERA under 2 I'd imagine he's a lock for the Cy Young

I know these questions have been asked repeatedly but if the Cardinals and Marlins are tied for 5/6 seeds, but the Cardinals are percentage points ahead, do they get 5 and Marlins 6 or do the Cardinals have to play the 2 makeup games?

I really don’t want to play the Cardinals

They'd get the better seed. They only play the extra games for in/out of the playoffs or home field advantage (division crown)

A lock? I thought Bauer had pretty much locked it up?

It’s at 2.01 now. It dropped .03 points in the last inning so I’m not doing the math but I’d guess 2 outs would get him to 1.99

The White Sox can horsefeathers the hell off. Tim Anderson and others flip their bats to the moon every chance they get and pimp HRs, EE acts like he has a [expletive] parrot on his shoulder every HR trot. How can they get upset at what Contreras did when their entire team does the same thing on HRs to an extent???

All these things are fine and should be encouraged too!

It's moot now, sounds like he's done. But I think the analytics like DeGrom and Darvish a tick more than Bauer, and so Darvish getting down to 1.99 would have probably helped him lock up the traditional vote (since he already has the best W/L record).

So I'm still generally opposed to the three man booth, but Demp is not bad at this. And it helps that Len and JD seem to actually like working with him.

I'm setting the over/under on total runs scored for the series at 4.5. Where's your money?
