Both these teams have sucked and it's a real immovable force vs and unstoppable object matchup to suck town for the final 3 before both head to the playoffs. The Cubs probably need 1 win to win the division, the White Sox will need at least 2 if not all 3 to win the AL Central. But most importantly the Crosstown Cup is on the line (hopefully whatever team has it buried in their utility closet remembers to bring it this weekend).

I'm setting the over/under on total runs scored for the series at 4.5. Where's your money?

the real bet for each game is which is higher, cubs hits or white sox homers?

Nah, we are due for a random 10 run game where everyone feels like things are back on track, followed by scoring 2 runs total the rest of the weekend

I really wish I could be more excited for this series. This is what its all about, division on the line for both teams, crosstown "rivalry", both teams getting ready for the playoffs. But I just don't feel excited about this team right now. Maybe its a character flaw that I cant enjoy this, but I know I'm not the only one feeling this way.

Cubs are 1-5 in their last six games scoring a total of 9 runs. Five of those came in the lone win. So they've scored 4 runs in their last five losses. I would say the Sox pitchers have a pretty good shot at stymieing the Cubs offense. Bu I think the Cubs offense will stymie themselves.

the cubs are boring in addition to hapless. also, winning the division is almost meaningless anyway. This weekend is irrelevant - you just have to hope the hitters get their horsefeathers together and somehow stay hot for the playoffs.

Win turds

But alas Cease walks everyone and their dog, so he’ll mow down this worthless offense to the tune of 14 strikeouts and one walk

One thing I'm going to miss from this season is hearing the dugout flip out on a dong before the camera has a chance to switch to the OF

Is the magic number based on the Cardinals playing 60?, because unless I'm missing something shouldn't it actually be 1 knowing that the Cardinals wouldn't make up those 2 if it was only for seeding? The only way the Cardinals end up with a better winning percentage is if the they win 3 and the Cubs lose 3.
