How long does it take for a team to get burned thinking they got the next Burrow? Mediocre college player early in his career, has a great final year surrounded by NFL talent everywhere, goes early, then flames out horribly.

I'm really wondering what post-LASIK Winston is capable of. He somehow managed to throw for 5,000 yards last year with 20/80 vision. Incredible really. For a guy like Kamara to reach his full potential it helps to have a QB with a deep threat. As it is now against the Saints the opposing safeties aren't ever too far away from the line of scrimmage. So, potential hot take: Post-LASIK Winston would be better for the 2020 Saints than Brees.

No way I'd want Brady over Brees at this point and I can't imagine any other Saints fans feel different.

Brady isn't any better than Brees at this point. They have different weaknesses, but they're around the same caliber. The goodwill of letting Brees stay on another year is worth more than a hypothetical increase in QB play with Brady that might not have even happened.
