Ross made it sound like on his weekly Score interview today that Chatwood and Q are basically piggybacking this start. Fwiw. Said he wouldn’t bring Q in a dirty inning and he’ll get a clean one. Would be nice to see them cover 6-7 innings today with maybe Sadler or someone coming in between if Chatwood can’t finish an inning.

Northern English (chiefly Northumbrian) and Scottish: variant, altered by folk etymology, of Trumble, on theory that it denoted a nickname for a man thought to be strong and brave enough to turn back a charging bull, from Middle English turn(en) 'to turn' + bul(l)e 'bull'.

10 ER in the last 3.1 IP for Chatwood. 36 pitch 1st.

It initially looked like everyone in the questionable back end of the rotation stepped up. Now it looks like no one has stepped up.

This was like the worst of both worlds start for Tyler. He got hit hard, and then he started walking everyone. What a disaster

Chatwood has made 4 starts this year. In half of them he pitched at least 6 innings and gave up 1 or 0 runs.

His season ERA is 6.06

Good spot to use Duane and he came through big time

Agreed, I didn’t mind using him there and he got the job done.

Chatwood pitched 1.1 IP, allowed 8 of the 12 batters he faced to reach, and somehow only gave up 2 runs

Anyone still in the "camp" that Chatwood, and not Q, should stay in the rotation. It was a blasphemous thought to consider Q 3+ weeks ago. Edited by PackLandVA

ERA over their last 4 starts:

Chatwood: 6.06

Quintana: 12.51

Guess the Cubs offense took a 1 day break from sucking yesterday
Offense racking up those called strikes in the zone when they get ahead in the count. They are way too passive in hitters counts. Ive never seen anything like it on a consistent basis.

Sucks that the Cardinals get tee off as part of their 6 games against the Royals this week after the Sox just took 2 of 3 from the Cubs over the weekend.

Cardinals have played 14 games in 11 days and are about to go 9-5 during that stretch.
