Yeah I like Sadler more than Winkler, odd move. Also I think there’s an open 28 man spot now? So Adbert coming up maybe? Osich comes in for Chatwood, KB for Perez, Martinez for Phegley and Maybin for Almora. Sadler didn’t need to go to clear room.

Edit forget this. Souza takes Sadler’s spot.

Sharma had floated Brailyn coming up yesterday and then retweeted himself about an hour ago...

Wow, finally Billy Hamilton is on the Cubs in the role he was born to play

The way things are going, we might need his bat. =D>

Agreed. Now if only we could figure out who to give it to.

We're last in the NL for strikeouts, so maybe some of our bats might be defective.

I'd bring Hamilton up tomorrow and start him against the Reds for a couple of games. You could really sit any of the three starters in the OF, although Schwarbs hits Mahle pretty well. But Happ and Heyward have been absolute trash against the Reds projected starters. Combined, those two are:

2/30 against Mahle

0/20 against Bauer

2/18 against Gray

==========

4 for 68 and that's trash

Give Hamilton a shot against his old team. Bat him 9th and make him bunt at least once each of the 3 games. Really couldn't be worse than what the recent lineups have produced.

We have the best outfield in baseball so far this year, Billy Hamilton wasn't signed to start. He comes in for Schwarber if we ever decide to take an early lead in games again, and he steals bases when you need him to later on. He's terrible at everything else.

Hamilton is a career 66 wRC+ player. He shouldn’t ever be starting outside of the hangover game after clinching. He’s here to pinch run and play late inning defense. Starting him should not ever be on the table in games they’re trying to win.

I haven't been watching the games, is Martinez just unlucky? No hits in 14 at bats but only 3 Ks.

Tons of ground balls to the left side

Sending Rea out seems incredibly dumb. He has a FIP/xFIP in the 3s as a RP this year, granted SSS. But he had a use in that role. He’s not really a starter with his profile but he still could go 2-3 innings if needed to soak innings. I don’t get it. Send down/cut that Vargas bum.

The Cubs have somehow managed to fill the roster with two worse offensive players than Albert Almora over the last week in Hamilton (who yeah has value in defense+SBs) and Vargas. That’s impressive.
