Cubs have 11 relievers on the active roster and I only somewhat feel good about Kyle Ryan, but based on track record could easily feel good about Kimbrel and Jeffress with a few good outings. But wow, really crazy to see a team that is supposed to be competing with such a poor pen.

Still early though, it’s possible a couple of these guys will figure it out as the season goes on.

Our first rounder is a reliever prospect right?

2nd rounder I believe.

Are you guys talking about Burl Carraway?

Yeah, we took him in the 2nd round and we'll probably see him in a couple weeks. Maybe towards the end of August.

I read through the draft thread enough to have a vague idea. Forgot all the names with no minors to follow.

Willy not trying to frame that 2-2 pitch and instead caring about Nick’s meaningless run on 3B. Jesus Christ Edited by Cubswin11

So now Kimbrel is Dillon Maples but with less stuff. Great.

Why do 90% of the pitchers that come here inexplicably lose their control?

Lost in all this is Heyward was inexplicably not subbed in for defense last inning and definitely makes the play Souza missed and it’s only 8-3 right now

He needs 97-100+ to make it work

Nah

His command is just poor in general now.

His command was always poor, but have 97-100 made that breaking ball play up. Imo. Command may be worse now but he was never a command guy, the stuff and velo just covered for him.

Not that this season is reaching its end but man this team isn't winning horsefeathers this year with this guy closing
