Adding pieces that help keep Descalso and Almora (Dietrich can play RF/LF with Heyward or Happ in CF) off the roster entirely or making it harder for them to get regular playing time is always a move I’ll endorse.

I assume whatever the intake process is means he's at minimum like a week or two from joining the team? So use that time to evaluate Kipnis, Hoerner, and Almora and swap him in for whoever's in the least good spot? (I think we all have an expectation of who that is)

True. Yeah that works while rosters are expanded. But if he's going to be on the roster past the cut down to 26 it'll have to be in place of one of those three I think. Though that's a full month to evaluate.

He had a really weird year statistically. He only had a 71% contact rate but is at 78% for his career and has two seasons at 81%. So if he can get back to those career numbers he’s a boost to that area of need as well.

Call him up for Almora. Go Happ/Heyward/Nico in CF with KB getting some more OF time and Bote/Dietrich getting more infield time.
