Ok let’s do the White Sox update:

When we last checked in on the Sox, they were in the middle of a 9-1 stretch where they pounded the Royals, Tigers and Pirates exclusively. Since they started playing real teams again, they have gone 4-6 (Yes I know it’s funny to call the Tigers and Pirates not real teams when the Cubs recently lost 2 of 3 games to both teams).

That makes their record against the Pirates, Royals and Tigers 21-3 and their record against every other team they’ve played 13-19.

I do think the Sox are pretty good, but this is a mildly entertaining stat

Dylan Carlson's getting hot at the right time maybe

I never noticed how boring the Cardinals' roster is until now, between the two I'd take the Brewers' roster

They’re both incredibly mediocre rosters

Looks like Burnes suffered some sort of serious arm injury there.

still not worried about the division?

Not really and him having a big injury helps us for next year seeing as he took a leap here.

It’s still only a 2 run game in the 5th and the Cardinals bullpen isn’t great and they’re getting in to it soon. Kim is at 80+ pitches.

Just because you seemingly want it to happen and be miserable doesn’t mean we should expect it. I’m gonna hold out hope and optimism we play well enough and also just go with the odds.

rick renteria just horsefeathers the white sox so badly

What did he do?

bases loaded and 2 outs in the 7th, protecting a 3-run lead. he bought in rodon, who just came off the IL and hadn't pitched in nearly 2 months. also he hadn't made a relief appearance since 2015. it went poorly. now they're going to blow their division if the cubs somehow win a game or 2 this weekend.

That division is pretty nuts. Cleveland was dead a week ago but now they have an outside shot at the division, and a decent shot at 2nd place. Twins play the Reds while the Indians get the Pirates. Twins would have the three way tiebreaker but Cleveland would win a H2H against the Sox if they were to tie. And there's a good chance the 1st and 3rd place teams in the division play each other in the WC round also.

Dude, do you just watch the Cubs in order to be miserable and negative? Following sports is supposed to be a fun hobby. Why not spend all of those hours with friends or loved ones?

I would say this could have been a response to 37.6% of my NSBB posts before 2009, and I've worked that number down to a healthy 12.7% since then.
