White Sox now 21-3 against the Royals, Pirates and Tigers and still 9-13 against every other team. Crazy that 52% of their games have been against teams that lost over 100 games last year and appear to be just as bad this year. I give them credit for beating the teams on their schedule, I’m not saying they are secretly not good, just that it’s hard to say how good they really are at this point.

To compare, the Cubs are 9-4 against those 3 teams and 19-16 against everyone else.

11 of their final 14 games are against the Twins, Indians and Cubs (other 3 against Cincinnati)

That loss finally puts the Cubs back in control of their own destiny

Were we guaranteed to lose a tiebreaker if both teams won out?

I think so. We're 4-6 against both the Cards and Brewers, and the first tiebreaker I believe is H2H record.

The Cubs are 5-5 against the Brewers and Cardinals, 6-4 against the Reds, and 5-1 against the Pirates

Yelich leads the Brewers in OPS among qualified players, though Gyorko leads among all players.

Yeah I just looked it up. Before today (when the Cardinals and Cubs were tied in the loss column) if both teams won out, the Cubs would be 25-15 in the division and the Cardinals 28-12 so the Cubs didn’t control their destiny until game 1 tonight

now that we vanquished the brewers they are going to lose like 8 of 10 to the cardinals

how can someone be wrong this often?

To be fair, it’s still possible.

frankly, I don't think it matters who wins - splitting the ten games is perfect. The Cardinals need to go 8-0 in their 7 extra games to catch the cubs . . .

Brewers going to blow Game 2. Already gave up 1 in the ninth and the Cards have 1st and 3rd with no out.

in the 9th? Is my gameday behind?

Haha, still haven't gotten used to these 7th inning DHs. I knew it was the last AB so my mind just assumed it was the 9th.
