Poorly coached team. Nagy might be a good OC (and some may not even think this) but he’s over his head with all the duties needed to be a HC.

I don't see how they can possibly keep him next year. This team has become a train wreck and he just keeps slamming his head into the wall doing the same ineffective things over and over.

Barring the team losing out (which is possible), I think everyone comes back next season for one last go-round. This team won't eat the contracts for Pace, Nagy, and Trubisky this offseason, plus their draft situation kinda sucks. I don't see them giving Pace another HC hire if Nagy gets fired, either.

Now, if they suck again in 2020, then I think they will clean house.

They'll call that roughing the passer, but somehow missed the hit to the head on Trubisky.

It was the right call on Floyd. Dumb penalty. Obviously doesn't mean the hit to the head wasn't missed, but Floyd's is just a clear and dumb mental mistake.

Technically he's allowed 2 steps after the ball is thrown. He took one. But he didn't need to push the QB.

A win is a win but boy the last 3 Bears wins (2 vs Det, NYG) have been pretty uninspiring.

Crazier things have happened but I can’t see the Bears doing better than 1 of the last 4.

They might lose out, but I’ll be an optimistic and say they go 1-3.

I’ll give a little credit. Mitch made some great throws down the stretch.

He was solid. Not a surprise that his 2 best games this year (in terms of Y/A and QBR) are against the Lions D but whatever.

Solid? I don't know how you can reasonably expect him to play better. Sure he could've ran for the first at the end of the half and the INT (against a top 5 CB) sucked, but take away those 2 plays and that game was essentially perfection.

76% complete with 2 drops. Made deep throws to both sides of the field and all the intermediate throws in the middle.

What does solid mean for you? I meant it as a compliment. He was good.

I do wonder though if his shoulder is still bothering him. Don’t know why else he would be running backwards to avoid contact like he did a couple times today.

Had they lost I would have blamed the defense, for a change, the offense wasn't the problem, Mitch was not terrible. Hell, he was, in fact, good, Montgomery was good, as was Miller, there was also a TE who seemed like a legitimate football player.

Guessing on the play before the half, he didn't realize how close he was to the 1st. The other times, it wasn't worth the extra yard or 2 to take a hit.

Feels like he's been told to protect himself to some extent this year. He's a non factor running the ball after it being the best part of his game pre injury last year.

Why didn't they blitz more often? They did manage to generate a little pressure but, I would have thought with a 3rd string QB playing his first game, they would thrown the kitchen stink at him. Granted it was hold city on most of the big passing plays the Lions had but, why not blitz, blitz, blitz?

They finally brought pressure at the end and it worked. I don’t get it either.

Cornelius Lucas has started 2 games and been the best pass blocker in each game.

The bar has to be incredibly low to call that game near perfection from Mitch. It was a good game that the defense almost lost. But Mitch left a lot on the table.
We have a 37 game sample size. Of course the bar is low. Still it's hard to imagine a world where 76% completion with 2 drops, 336 yards, 3 TDs and a 119 QB rating doesn't meet whatever bar you could set.

He passed the statistical and eye test other than 2 plays. Not sure if you're looking at your Thanksgiving leftovers, but that's a big ass table if he left a lot on it.

He's still not good overall. But he was more than good today.

He still threw a lot of balls that were close enough to catch, but not "catchable". That's going to be Mitch's issue, putting receivers in a spot to advance the ball. And Nagy's version of the West Coast with a lot of passes to the flats and stuff just won't work with Mitch. Today's version with a lot of PA that worked the intermediate field eventually opened up the long game and worked well, albeit against a bad D. Late in the game a few of those passes to Miller he was finally legit dropping dimes, which he's thrown maybe like 6 of all year.

Near perfection is probably something Mitch isn't capable of, but today was a very nice effort that was perhaps a few critical plays away from a great outing. A this point theres been incrimental progress going on 4-5 weeks, so that's something at least.

Great game from Mitch. He needs consistency and consistency is what separates bad QBs from great QBs. Anyone can QB like Mitch did today for one game in today’s NFL. Win out or win 3 of the next 4 and be the reason the Bears win to prove to your teammates and management that they don’t need to bring Cam Newton in next year.

The debate over Mitch' performance aside there's one undeniable outcome of today's game - Roquan Smith has awaken and is starting to play like the beast we all know he can be. Actually, his awakening may have begun with the game vs. the Rams.

When he got hurt, I wanted the Bears to re-sign Trevathan. Mainly because Smith hadn't really taken that next step to show he can lead the defense, call the D, etc. Plus Trev can still play.

But now, with Smith taking the next step and Kwit putting together multiple solid games, I'm all for the younger & cheaper LB pairing.

Bears got some unlikely help today from the Dolphins and Redskins. Seahawks are now the Bears' second favorite team as they get the Vikings and Rams next 2 (tomorrow and next week). Part of me really hates that there's still hope.

Since it probably requires winning out, I think hope is dead.

That said, here's a scenario where Minn falls apart down the stretch and the Bears can still lose to KC and make the playoffs at 9-7! Let that unrealistic hope soak in baby.
