Holy horsefeathers that was incredible. I’m glad I decided to watch the end of this. Lavine with 49 wow

I saw they were down 7 with under 30 left and just assumed they would lose, so I didn't watch. Bummer.

Teams were 9-15,266 when trailing by at least 8 points in the final minute of the fourth quarter over the last 20 seasons, a 0.059% winning percentage.

And it didn't even require Charlotte totally choking on the FTs. Zach just couldn't miss.

Damn, I totally missed this last night. Was traveling.

Is this less or more crazy than that one TMac game a million years ago?

Forman is supposedly on the hot seat. Won’t matter unless Paxson and Boylen are also fired and for some reason Paxson is untouchable.

The best we can hope for is the next time Pax steps down, JR accepts his resignation.

Then hope Collins in a senior advisory role, advises JR on a replacement outside of JRs circle of comfort.

I think our best hope is Doug Collins at some point telling JR he needs to hire a new GM and head coach, and that Paxson just decides it's time to step aside...

There was an article saying Forman is on the hot seat, but Paxson is like Kenny Williams and will always have a job/role. If the Bulls miss the playoffs (which looks likely now) then maybe real change happens next offseason in the Bulls FO. We really need a Sam Presti type leading this organization.

The Warriors are 2-0 against the Bulls and 2-16 against every other team in the NBA since Curry was injured. Why did we think this team was going to be decent again?

the best thing that can happen to this organization this year is for the attendance to continue to dwindle. finally, Jerry & his kid might actually be forced to be accountable for this garbage.

They’ll just cut back on FA for the White Sox for a few years to make up for it.

I listen to ESPN 1000 every day during work, and Kap keeps saying today that there will be meaningful change in the front office according to sources close to the team that he knows.

And this time, they won't just hire someone they know. Michael will apparently go outside the org and interview new voices.

I'm not holding my breath, and even if it does happen how confident can we be that Michael Reinsdorf will be able to find the right person.

When will this change happen? If they've decided that GarPax isn't their guy anymore, do it today before they screw up another trade deadline.

I mean realistically the Bulls are not in bad shape if you remove GarPax from the equation. They have the team in a great cap position, they have fairly valuable trade assets, they have talent just not superstar talent. I don't mind crediting them for doing that. The problem is that I have no faith in them from here, barring getting lucky on a draft pick turning into a superstar. The fact that they replaced Hoiberg with Boylen without talking to anyone else and then doubled down by extending him for no good reason tells me all i need to know about their ability to turn around this team.

Pax (removing Gar here) does some things well, I credit him for the baby bulls plan that worked, I credit him for clearing the cap space and having the team in a position to sign LeBron and Wade in 2010 even though it didnt work. I credit him for consistently having the team in good financial shape. But we just need a new voice for the organization. 1 ECF appearance in 17 years isn't cutting it...

Yea, Pax had some moments, but this is his basketball ops through and through. If changes don't include him, it's meaningless IMO.

Doug Collins is probably the right in house candidate who could help guide Michael's search for a real VP of basketball ops role. Then let him fade away for the most part as well.

here's more with longer direct quotes from Kaplan

“I don’t know who’s advising Michael Reinsdorf and Jerry, I don’t know who is going to be involved in their plan,” Kaplan continued. “I’m just telling you, people I still know and have a relationship within the league, saying, ‘yeah, there’s finally going to be massive change coming to Chicago.’ Massive. That’s how the guy characterized it to me. And that there’s going to be a clean[ing] out of the scouting department and how you construct a scouting staff and how you construct your front office and your operations and who’s going to be the head coach.”

The Bulls are probably worlds away from a team like Houston as far as how they organize operations. If by chance they're thinking that large scale of a turnover... That's the type of hope I thought would be reliant on Jerry dying/new owners.

Actually that's a good point regarding Anthony Davis. Now I don't know if he will actually consider the Bulls no matter how coy he is being about his FA, if you wanted to lure him a complete regime change in time to make a few moves to make the roster look better before FA starts might be a direction worth considering. You can sell him this was the first impactful action by Michael Reinsdorf and the primary reasons for the bad reputation the Bulls have (Jerry Reinsdorf and GarPax) are gone. Of course Michael Reinsdorf has been running the show for several years but he doesn't have to know that...
