The rare all NFC game on CBS.

The Bears are 2-1, seemingly no worse for the wear after a nearly disastrous first two games. The division remains in reach, and despite being on the outside looking in for the wild card, there is a lot of time left. There's been a lot of talk of Nagy dialing back the offense to dumb it down for old Mitchy one thing (at a time).

Vegas still kind of believes in the Bears, or at least, all the dumb money coming out of Chicago still believes in the Bears. They are 2 point favorites against an actual contender. The 4th straight week of being the favorite (and I assume something like 6 or 7th straight dating back to last season. Don't ask me, I'm not a degenerate*.

This Vikings defense is a lot better than Washington's. They have not been as stingy as the Packers, but they also haven't had the opportunity to play against the Bears yet. Chicago looked better on Monday, but most of the victory was thanks to opportunistic turnovers rather than tremendous drives by the offense. More likely than not, the defense will need to hold Minnesota to less than their season average 26 points per game. They did well against the Vikings last year, and will need this win if they really do have hopes for the division crown.

Bears resigned Bradley Sowell and cut Kerrith Whyte

Didn't he drop a ton of weight to play TE and then got cut?

Posted
He dropped weight and moved to TE over the offseason (at the request of the Bears), he was cut before the Redskins game because they had to get another defensive lineman on the roster

IDK if my faith in a Bears win this game has more to do with the Bears or the fact that Cousins sucks against teams with a winning record through a rather sizeable sample size.

That, and not that it matters much but the Vikings always seem to lose at the new Soldier Field, maybe two wins off the top of my head.

I usually only see the late season home games as a big advantage vs the Vikings. Don't really see how it matters that much in late September (beyond regular old HFA).

Blasphemy, I know, but I kinda wanted the Packers to win last night. The Packers are obviously the biggest obstacle in the division, but I feel the Eagles are the most talented team in the NFC. If they had gone to 1-3, their season would have been on life support. They still have a 3-game road trip at MIN, DAL, and BUF followed by 3 home games vs. the Bears, Patriots and Seahawks (w/ a bye mixed in). The Eagles are going to get healthy and just like last year, be a force down the stretch where they have an easy last 5-6 weeks. GB win would have potentially meant 1 less team the Bears had to worry about in the NFC wildcard race if they don't win the division.

Offensively, they are definitely a talented group. Defensively, they look pretty bad.

I think your time in Pittsburgh has biased you.

It's a much easier road to the SB as division champ and possible 1st round bye then to be a WC and have to win 3 straight road games. Glad the Eagles won. Division or bust.

Rewatched some plays from the game, and boy is Kyle Long a shadow of his former self. He apparently aggravated his hip and is questionable for Sunday, but I don't think he should ever play again. He is really bad. Granted, nobody on the line has been all that good, but Long just has 0 ability left in his oft-injured body. I don't want anyone to get hurt, but he probably should be IR'd and bring up Alex Bars.

That's what I said last month. Theres just no justifying paying his salary for what he's given us lately. I don't want to say hes done but he should be making less than half of his current cap hit.
