My favorite thing about people saying "SJW" is that it is a meaningless phrase meant to accuse people of pretty much anything

Or, on the slight chance that it is used literally, it is meant to somehow disparage a person for wanting social justice. "HOW DARE YOU WANT THINGS TO BE JUST!!!"

Guy calls everyone else triggered; guy also loses his mind over a bad baseball player being disliked for being a bad baseball player and a terrible human being; guy inexplicably thinks bad baseball player is some kind of salvation for a struggling team based on the tiniest of possible sample sizes, and that bad baseball player is being prevented from saving the team by people who don't like bad baseball players who are bad people; guy, of course, makes besties with the only other turd lurking around here who is a fan of bad baseball player.

This has been quite a journey.

Once again more made up SJW spin.

You can dislike Russell all you want, but to act like Russell's .798 OPS as a starter this year wouldn't be useful is a wrong as the 2B have gone 5-for-40 and we went 3-7 since he last started. If you guys weren't triggered by Russell you would be fine with him the roster, and if you want to compare baseball players then use baseball to do it. You guys would rather lose than risk the chance Russell does something positive.

David Bote is a bad baseball player so why don't you guys have the same feeling on him? He's older, lesser OPS as a starter and a weaker defender but its not about baseball with you guys.

When you look at yourself in the mirror, do you realize how awful you are? Or have you mastered the MAGA art of projection? Just curious.

You are the idiots who are going to get him elected again.

Having exchanges with these sock puppets isn't even fun for me as sport. What I'm kinda sorta curious about what makes these accounts so active all of a sudden? It's manic posting over the past few days from one of them. Then occasionally we'll have a dormant account pop up for a short spell, a bunch of frenzied, targeted posts, then go dark again. Talk about being triggered. Something is making them act in this way.

Well I am brown so there may be some truth to this in motivating racist POS.

This is beside the actual point but I don't know how I didn't catch this sooner. You are using "Russell's .798 OPS as a starter this year" freely like its a valid stat.

.733....that is Russell's OPS this year... 88 OPS+. Stop cherry picking stats

Russell has bad numbers off the bench this year when he was playing with the hand issue and threw the bat away on almost every swing. He has a .798 OPS over 38 starts so yes that is valid since is nearly a quarter of the year.

I have a 588 game sample that says he's a career .707 OPS hitter

He's also a former All-Star

So is Bryan LaHair. Should be bring him back?

I'm not white

Why is this spoilered? What on earth?

Is he still 25?

We don't really know how much he has or hasn't aged behind closed doors.

To think that some combination of Happ, Bote, Kemp and (soon) Zobrist at 2B couldn't possibly match or exceed Russell's wholly unremarkable and paltry value to the team is an amazing bit of stubborn delusion.

Man, real disappointed I missed this one.

Honestly, if Russell actually was a good baseball player (he's not), banishing him to Iowa would make me like the Cubs even more. Not as much as cutting him, obviously, but here we are.

It genuinely amazes me that anyone could still have hope for him offensively at this point. If it's someone getting hung up on the technicality that he's still useful defensively, OK, fine...but this guy is pinning his support on his horsefeathering bat! The very same bat that Russell still regularly hurls into the stands because he has no idea how to hold onto it after FIVE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY EIGHT GAMES in the big leagues.

Thanks for making my point

What point is that? That' you'll excuse the most deplorable behavior for winning a game? Glad I made it.

Nope just the Non SJW = automatic MAGA label you guys always jump to. Always worried about everyone's behavior, but never your own. MLB, the Cubs and his wife are fine with him playing so he should be playing and staring for Javy in today's game.

But, hey screw the victims wishes right?

Even IF he hadn't abused his wife, the guy isn't especially great at baseball, Reno ABs aside. Now that Javy is at SS, Addi's glove doesn't play up as well to make up for his subpar bat, crappy baserunning, and general cluelessness. I'd rather have Zobrist and maybe even Happ at 2B going forward. If Javy gets hurt, then the irredeemable turd can come back to the majors, assuming he can find the time to learn the signs.

Also, pretty funny that you are simulaniously claiming that baseball decisions are separate from off-field issues, but also offer up that his ex doesn't think he should be banned from baseball as evidence he should be playing. Btw, no one here thinks he should be banned from baseball. We just think he's a douche that isn't especially good at baseball and don't want to watch him play for the Cubs. If that's triggered, price up my acocado toast and call me libtard. Don't care.

Yeah, just to drive home your point, here is the start of the wiki article on social justice warriors:

Social justice warrior (SJW) is a pejorative term for an individual who promotes socially progressive views, including feminism, civil rights, and multiculturalism,[1][2] as well as identity politics.

It's bound to get Trump elected again...somehow.
