Saw something with Vikings favored by TD. I guess there's a chance Mitch doesn't play, but that boy needs the practice.

Not as much as he needs to not get hurt by the same team that hurt him earlier this year, in a game that likely means nothing for either team.

Oh and Mitch just broke a team record for completion percentage in a game today, with a YPA of nearly 10.

It’s guaranteed to mean something for Minnesota, at least at kickoff

And for the Bears they will still be alive for the bye at kickoff

Bears lose they likely get Minnesota in first round. Bears win its likely Philadelphia. Maybe the Rams find a way to lose, so I hope the Bears treat this game like an important game

Forgot PHilly won. They were down late and I had it in my mind already that the Vikings clinched.

Bears will be alive for a bye, but they need help. SF just beat Seattle and held their own with the Bears but even without Gurley, they'll be hard pressed to beat the Rams in LA. The Bears probably have to put forth too much effort for it to be worth it vs. a desperate Vikings team just to possibly still not get a bye.

But it's not. Even if was, it would pale in comparison to the importance of the week after. After 2 key guys going down last week, scares from Robinson, Fuller and Hicks today, and another late hit to Trubisky....the most important thing is getting to the real important game. Also have to factor in not showing a prospective opponent anything they could use the following week.

I'm not saying tank the game, but there's no way guys like Trubisky, Mack, Robinson, Hicks or Jackson should play. I'd probably sit at least 1 of my starting CBs too. Start Daniel and have a pretty vanilla gameplan on offense.

Raw doesn't want us trying for the bye after we didn't tie for it today

I'd be fine with playing to win if it was any team but the Vikings. I understand that the Bears are in a situation that if they win, they don't have to worry about playing them a week later. But they are a talented team, especially defensively and I'm really leery about them having a really good pass rush and Mitch's willingness to run and put his body in danger against the team that hurt him earlier this year. Just doesn't seem worth it when you could go all out to win, and either win and it doesn't matter (Because the Eagles also lose and the Rams win) or lose and have to figure out how to beat the team that legitimately beat you the week before.

Yeah I think this is the right attitude here. Even if the Bears were playing Minny, but didn't need the Rams to lose, I could see going all out for a win. But having that Rams game out of the Bears control...it's a gamble no matter what happens.

I worry about having to beat a team 3 times in a year, but I really want that bye

I think you play the starters. Less because of the bye and more because of the Vikings. While obviously the bye is crazy valuable, I don't think it's particularly likely the Rams lose. On the other hand, the Vikings are WAY better than the current Eagles, so if we can knock them out it's much smoother sailing during the Wild Card round.

someone less lazy than me figure out if there's a reasonable stat line mitch can put up to get to a 100 passer rating on the season

Well, repeat of Tampa game would do it. Repeat of Detroit game would still require a 4th TD pass to hit 100.

Sure about that? Eagles just beat the Rams and Texans (two teams that would have HFA if they'd won those games) with a backup QB who is coming off a Superbowl MVP.

Vikings haven't beaten a team with a winning record since beating the Eagles like week 4, who didn't have a winning record then. If not for garbage time TDs in Chicago they would have lost to all those winning teams since by double digits.

Nagy came out strongly in the Athletic that he's playing it straight up for the win. Too lazy to go back and look for the link.

Now, he could just be saying that, but it sure sounded like he will be aggressively trying for the win.

Yeah, Minny isn't that good. Philly is more dangerous. But if the Bears struggle to beat either at home in the playoffs, they weren't going to pull off a road upset anyway.
