This is where 23 in a row is brutal with a team whose starters can’t pitch deep. Bullpen is way too taxed and can’t catch a break. We knew this was going to be a really tough stretch, very solid teams, long road trip, etc. I was kind of expecting a collapse in the back half of the stretch. Really sucks that the Brewers get to play out the last 3 games of our death march.

I still don’t think this will come to fruition. I expect us to take the series at Wrigley coming up. The Nats were always gonna give us trouble in their home park, no matter what.

Hey let put a scattered lineup in both games 1 and 2 and hope to win one..

 

Yep this is where punting a game can bite you in the ass. Can’t believe Joe didn’t match up Cole and Scherzer tbh.

I still don’t think this will come to fruition. I expect us to take the series at Wrigley coming up. The Nats were always gonna give us trouble in their home park, no matter what.

 

The only reason to assume that is because ANY team conceivably could give the Cubs trouble at this point, since the Nationals are an ass team at this point.

They got up 4-0 with Hamels on the mound. Gotta win those games late in the season like this.
