Someone mentioned if he throws that pass it gets picked by Dix, don't know if that's a fact if Trubisky goes low on throw or high towards the back of the end zone.

He's got to see that receiver coming open before Dix is in position to make a play. There was absolutely a window for an easy TD throw there

Which player is Dix here? I cant imagine who is supposed to close out on a 20 yard throw there.

Exactly. I am by no means an expert so I could be talking out my ass but it seems like something he should either be able to pick up pre-snap or sense as the play is developing.

Defenses still don't have to cover the left sideline against Mitch past the line of scrimmage. He completed one pass to his left (past los) the entire game.

checks out

I think that one to the left about 25 was actually one of his best throws of the night and bounced off Sims gut.

Point stands, though.

That throw was outside the pocket though, so he didn't throw across the field to his left. It was basically the equivalent of throwing to the left hash if he was in the middle of the field.

Also, he has to throw that ball to Burton in the end zone. By the time he saw it, the safety (Dix) saw it, so maybe he thought he couldn't get it there, but he literally made the same throw earlier in the game in a much tighter window to Robinson.

He also needs to throw that TD to Cohen on the wheel route on their final drive with the lead. Collinsworth said it was good coverage, but the 270lb LB was beat and never turned around. Easy TD.

Wasn't covered at any point up to that point. Mitch has to see that. If we see a still of his hands up, the ball should have already been on the way there, not his first read, but its right in front of him.

What if Mitch Trubisky is just bad? He might be bad.

If he's legitimately bad, he'll be out of a job by December. If he's mediocre, he'll still get this year, and there will be a QB competition with Daniel next summer, and then Pace will be fired after the 2020 season, and a new GM will come in and be given a year to make it work with Nagy, using the 2021 First Round pick on a QB. This will be Nagy's last chance for an extension.

So let's hope Mitch is good. Because bad Mitch will result in 3+ years of awful football with no hope for turnaround.

This is what depressed me the most about the Packers game. If Mitch sucks...it's a long road ahead.

I'm fairly sure this defense is going to be insanely good, Rodgers crazy week 1 heroics aside, so if Mitch is just blah, the team is probably still good. If Mitch and the offense are actually good by the end of the year, then the team is really horsefeathering good, but one dominant unit and one OK one is more than enough to be a playoff contending team in the NFL.

Not what we all want to see by any means, but yeah. And I'm still fairly optimistic about Trubisky at least being pretty good ultimately.

I'm hoping it was just stagefright from Mitch playing in this new offense. He sure looked scared. Chase Daniel looked pretty poised in preseason because he is well versed on this offense. Daniel was making plays anywhere on the field, and he was tossing it to the 2nd stringers. This offense has too many weapons to not be good.

The first set of called plays was fun because it threw the defense off. After that, it should have just been Jordan Howard, Jordan Howard and Jordan Howard. Shove him down the defenses throat. That Mr. Howard is now a threat on screens should have made this an easy victory with Rodgers possibly leaving the game with the Bears up much bigger than they already were. 10 yard passes should be open all day long with the linebackers cheating the line to support the run defense that the Bears are throwing at them.

Yea, pretty much my opinion as well. Mitch just cant be bad for them to be successful and fun to watch.

I know this conflicts with the numbers the ESPN guy put out there recently...I haven't dug real deep, but my guess is it's a conflict between "accurate" and what actually happened when whatever is defined as an accurate throw was delivered to one of our awful receivers.

Ugh there were so many bad moments I had forgot that horrible run by Sims.

Yea Sims is not good. Too bad that Shaheen got hurt. He probably is bad too, but at least young and bad. Would rather see Braunecker at this point (who can likewise at least be young and bad)

Now that I've had some time for perspective, I'm willing to nervously chalk up Trubisky's deer-headlights routine as a bad game that could happen to anyone.

But the defense getting absolutely shredded effortlessly is still pretty scary.

wasn't Sully all in on Mitchell? He's given up on him on Twitter.

Yes. Him and Thrilo were absolutely head over heels for him.
