He starts talking to Nico Hoerner at the 19:26 mark in the podcast.

Nico says he feels great and is fully healthy now. Cubs have him doing pilates. He sounds really confident and is up for moving around and playing different positions.

Not Cubs related, but if Nate Pearson ends up being really good and Alex Lange & Brendon Little disappoint I'm going to be pretty pissed. Too early to know what will happen and pitching prospects are fickle creatures.

Still, 100 is 100:

Nice to hear good things on defense for Nico Hoerner. I think some scouts before the draft maybe thought he couldn't stick at short because of arm strength issues? He doesn't have a cannon, but it seems like he makes pretty accurate throws.

Not a big deal lol.

10/16:

C J. Pereda 0/4, K; defense: 2/2 CS

LF DJ Wilson: 0/4, K

RP B. Clark 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K, 4-0 GO-FO, 27-21 pitches-strikes

That strike percentage from Clark is sexy, given his history. I tried finding some velocity reports for him on twitter, but wasn't having any luck. Last I remember seeing was that he was sitting 92-93ish, rather than the 95-97 that he has flashed before.

Keith Law on Vlad Jr. lol:

He can really throw, but he's just so big, with so much of his weight in his lower half, that I see little chance he stays at third base -- he clearly needs about 12 more days of service to work on that in Triple-A next April.

No Cubs prospects are mentioned in the article.

From the latest chat on Fangraphs:

Scott of Lincolnshire: Eric! How’d Justin Steele look?

Eric A Longenhagen: Meh. 90-93, average curveball, below control.

That was after watching his bad first start but before his second, good start.
