Well if this theme and team doesn’t make us try not to suck than we are done for

Especially since they'd have to be begging for forgiveness from SO many dead ancestors.

It's just the Royals, so it wouldn't really matter much, but it would do a lot for the board's psyche if Hamels can be badass again tonight and preferably for more than 5 innings.

After watching our starting pitching get beat up by the NL version of the Royals, I'm willing to go with it actually matters.

[David]ACTUALLY, it's been scientifically proven that literally no 5 inning stretch of baseball matters, has mattered, or ever will matter.[/David]

Junis has given up a Dong in 13 of 20 starts this year including 3HRs in a game 4 times and 5, FIVE, HRs in a game another time and also has given up more Dongs than any player on our team has hit (26). I guess my point is, how many opposite field singles do we hit today?

He's got a horsefeathering DH spot to play with, and Joe still manages to leave Bote out, while saddling Rizzo with the brutal 1-2 punch of August 2018 Russell and Almora. Against a RHP. It's Neifi-Macias-Lee all over again.

He's almost impressively stubborn in his blind spots.

It's pretty crazy, obviously he may have some sort of info that's informing these decisions (whether it's numbers or knowing a guy is banged up or whatever) but this all just seems like he's going completely by feel and his own thoughts. The lineup tonight should've been.

Zobrist LF/RF

Javy 2B

Rizzo 1B

Willy C

Schwarber DH

Happ CF/LF

Heyward RF/CF

Bote 3B

Russell SS

or something like that, definitely those are the 9 guys that should be in.

Yeah, this is borderline "gotta play the veterans, dude" behavior

I love this lineup and this order. If they want to switch Bote and Happ, cool.

this is pretty spot on. and with the DH, you can even leave Rizzo at the top if you really want and put like Happ and Bote 8-9 to give Rizzo plenty of opportunities to drive in runs.

FREE BOTE

Hey, at least Russell isn't batting fourth again. Heyward shouldn't be in the 3 spot, but he is hitting better this year and I believe in him.

Oh definitely, Bote should totally be in this lineup also.

Be there tonight and tomorrow as I’m taking the boys to their first MLB Cobs experience. Hoping they’re slightly more impressed with this over the Iowa Cubs

Does a toothpick make an appearance tonight?

Well played. The best line I ever saw on this forum was someone say that Carl looks like a kid in Cubs pajamas.

Enough to still be the best offense in baseball when excluding pitchers?

It's absurd how much you guys complain about the lack of home runs and try to diminish the quality ABs our batsmen bring to the field every day. This offense is awesome and you all should stfu about it.
