Would love to see Williams make it all the way back. A couple years back he was our best candidate to become Hendricks 2.0.

Yeah I remember that, did he have an injury or just stall out??

His arm fell off right when he got to Iowa.

Watched the Little game last night. What was most improved was his location. Was spotting the FB on the outside corner to lefties quite well. He left it up a bit too but it didn't hurt him. The Lugnuts announcers said his FB had late life. It was difficult to see much movement from their CF camera angle. The curve was consistently controlled and plus. The change up was the best it's been yet in this game. It didn't wow you, but it was effective which is an improvement. It had some tailing action and was thrown for strikes.

FB was 92-93 in the first couple of innings, 88-91 after that. Curve was consistently 80. Didn't get a velo reading on the change.

Yeah, that's been him all year. Huge disappointment.

Thanks. Yeah, that seems to be the same consistently slowish guy. Sounds like he'll need to be a good, finesse control guy. Which won't be easy to be on a consistent basis, given that he was never scouted as a control artist, and that the curve is about as hard a pitch to control as there is.

The game he left early in June, then missed some time, he was hitting 95mph.

He wasn't hitting 90mph with the Cubs last year, so there's progress... His development is a process, the Cubs have him working on lots of stuff. Top end speed on his 4-seamer is not one of the things they're concentrating on.

That's much more common, and understandable, given that he threw 100+ innings in a full season of college ball and then took a little time off. His velo has never come back to his pre-draft form that was a huge part in him being a 1st rounder. It's a legitimate concern, especially if he can be 92-93 for a short time and then lose several mphs as the innings progress. He's almost 22 years old already.

Regarding the rest, do you happen to know someone in the organization or Little himself? Legit question, as that post had a few statements that only somebody with those connections could make.
