Welp, yesterday was a whole lot of:

:barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf:

But that was yesterday. Today the Cubs are gonna get to this rookie Plutko and Lester is gonna go 7 innings, allowing less than 5 hits and only 1 run. 7-2 Cubs.

Can’t decide if which theme to go with:

Cubs were basically shut out yesterday, not counting the 9th inning tater by Ian “don’t call me Albert Fish” Happ, so they’ll end up raking tonight for a baker’s dozen; or

They get silenced by an unknown.

Hmmmm, decisions, decisions, decisions.

I bought a Schwarber shersy abouta week before he blew his knee into a thousand pieces. The amount that I have worn that shirt has not really depended on his status with the Cubs over that time. If we shipped him to Cleveland for Salazar or whomever, I'd still be wearing it because I like the guy, and also because I'm cheap and it says "Cubs" on it.

I mean, if I had a Chuck McElroy Cubs jersey I'd wear that and imagine myself to be kinda cool, in a hipster doofus kind of way. That said, Baker is really pushing it.

I've been crazy pessimistic about Lester but with how good he looked last time out plus striking out Jose Ramirez just now I'm nearly off the ledge.
