Thanks, cal. Yeah, seems like between Phil's info and this, kind of shakes out the significant questions. With Alzolay out, that also settles the Tennessee rotation (ODLC, Clifton, Hatch, Rucker, and Robinson), and Myrtle we already knew I think (Lange, Paulino, Thompson, Moreno, and Hudson).

Did we ever get any note on *WHY* Alzolay is behind? Just programmed late start, to save innings for September/October; or was there a physical-health setback?

Alzolay “only”pitched 110 innings last year. Hopefully the delayed start is more to protect him from hitting a innings limit and get refined before the end of the year with the idea he could be up in MLB for meaningful innings at some point and not that he’s hurt.

I’m pretty sure it was a small injury holding him back because we would’ve heard something by now I f it was an innings timing strategy. That said, hopefully it works out that way if he does have a big league impact.

And FYI, Alzolay bumps up to 126 IP last year when you count his AFL innings.

Myrtle Beach’s roster: https://atmilb.com/2JhlQuz

6 top 30 prospects on the roster: Alex Lange, Bryan Hudson, Keegan Thompson, Aramis Ademan, DJ Wilson and Wladimir Galindo. No Erling Moreno.

Since Moreno didn’t make a full season roster, I guess we can assume he’s hurt again.

Thanks for rosters, cal. Bummed on Moreno, was one of my favorite breakout candidates.

All told, though, seems like a pretty healthy landscape. If the only injuries are Moreno, and Alzolay being bumped back two weeks, that's not bad at all.

Alzolay had a minor leg injury that held him back. The cubs haven’t decided if he’ll go to Tennessee or Iowa when he’s ready.

When he’s ready, he’ll either start the season in Double-A with the Tennessee Smokies or in Triple-A with the Iowa Cubs.

“We’ve had some discussions but nothing’s been decided yet,” Madison said. “We’re just waiting. Probably in two weeks, he’ll be ready to go out to an affiliate. He’ll be built up and stretched out enough. At that time, we’ll make a determination based on how guys are pitching and where we think he fits."

“He’s doing great,” Madison said. “He threw yesterday. He felt good. He’s dealing with a little bit of a lower leg issue that kind of stalled him a little bit. But, he’s healthy. He’s ready to go and just building back up.”

I'd rather see Alzolay start at Iowa and work from there. Granted, some of it may be weather dependent, whenever he is ready.

I'm curious if Lange, because of his pedigree and collegiate experience, can get off a good start to warrant a bump to AA by mid-season. I'm fascinated with the idea of Jake Stinnett in the pen - didn't the velocity drop off at times last year? Out of the pen, where he isn't worried about guys 2nd or 3rd time through, if he can find this velocity, could be mildly intriguing.
