Really interested to see if those numbers end up accurate. If so good for him.

Weird market this year though. An absolute nightmare for mediocre corner infielders with old player skills, but most other guys did pretty well. I expected more money for Jarrod Dyson and Lance Lynn, but mostly it's that Moustakas/Frazier/LoMo/Walker class that got horsefeathered hard.

The Brewers just might do it and finish bottom 2 in the division this year. What in the world was their pitching strategy this offseason?

Doesn't that Brewers poster have to eat his own hat now or something?

Yeah, that guy turned out to be pretty bad. He hit on Yelich early so it seemed like he had some good info, but it got worse and worse from there.

i don't understand why they'd sign cain but not get any starting pitchers.

it has to be that they thought they'd be able to move Domingo pretty quickly in a package for a pitcher..........if not, what a weird signing.

The Brewers rotation is going to be Anderson/Davies/Chacin/ and 2 of Miley/Woodruff/Guerra (sounds like Suter is going to be a swing man). Darvish, Quintana and Lester all project for more WAR than all 3 of Chacin and whatever 2 of Miley/Woodruff/Guerra combined, Hendricks projects for more than whatever 4/5 they choose combined and Chatwood is right there. In summation, LOL.

wow he got the exact deal everyone expected him to get in December, only now he has about 8 days to get ready for the season. Smooth move, everyone.

And he's stuck playing for Baltimore instead of the Cubs

How did Cobb get $60 mil/4 yrs this late into ST? The Orioles tried to wait as long as possible to get a discount and they still had to offer this to get him to sign? Was there a bidding war?

Good job by his agent.

Yeah, the Brewers suck and they are going to win 78 games.

oh man this guy is still at it, lmao

Hahahahaha "our 6-8 are better than most other teams' 6-8" how the eff is this dude not a joke account

Unbelievable stuff there. Some other good stuff.

I'm not so sure. I think they took smart risks....I like the moves. Get the best risk:reward ratios and go from there. Needs change and so do trade opportunities. They're a very smart front office. I'm glad they passed on all these starters at the prices they got.....

Lots of teams have question marks in the rotation. It could go either way. The real risk is spending too much and/or forfeiting draft picks for guys who could easily be worse than Suter and Woodruff due to injury and/or age. Hard to bounce back from that kind of mistake if you're a small market.

Cain and Yelich were quite possibly the two best values among high-profile acquisitions in all of baseball this offseason IMO. And it sounds like diminishing the value of saving money and assets for future moves, but that's not a thing you want to underestimate as a small market team.....

That whole board seems to think the Cain deal was so great and not risky yet all these SP FA had too much risk to even touch. Also what "great risk:reward ratio" do they have? Their risk is having 3-4 replacement level options for 3 spots in their rotation and their reward is have maybe 3, 1-1.5 WAR options in the rotation? They're fine dismissing it as most teams have rotation question marks, I guess.

They also all seem to think this Corbin Burnes guy, who’s 23 and hasn’t pitched more than 85 innings above A ball, is somehow the second coming of Scherzer and is going to be a major impact rotation piece this year by the way they talk about him. His fangraphs page looks fine for a pitching prospect but nothing I’d get that excited about.

As hilarious as that line is, he does have a bit of a point. We're only like 2 injuries in the rotation away from having to stoop so low as to have a starter as bad as their #3.

Corbin Burnes is actually pretty good as pitching prospects go. He's one of those arms in the minors I actually buy into - healthy and shows skills. Freddy Peralta put up the right kind of numbers too but I don't know much about him. Woodruff has the kind of arm, power sinker, that might get away with some [expletive] too.

But will he get in front of the ball or pull some olé [expletive]?
