this has to be about as bad as we have hit over any 4 game stretch since we got good

I agree, but this has a whole lot to do with Scherzer and Strasburg.

they're obviously very good, but they had ERAs in the mid 2s this season, it's not like they were flirting with no hitters and striking out 10+ batters every game.

Yeah, you aren't ever seeing 3 guys on the level of Strasburg and Scherzer in 4 games, unless there is a rainout like this that pushes one of them up. And if you do, a team with 3 of those guys is nearly impossible to beat.

If the offense doesn't show up in Game 5, complain away. But we've faced Scherzer and Strasburg 3 times so far and beat them twice. Not much you can complain about right now.

Well we burned Madsen potentially for tomorrow but they get to bring Scherzer for an inning

With our luck they'll have Scherzer start the damn game.

The only thing I’m overly mad about this game is the inning Heyward has the lead off single, Javy should’ve bunted. He doesn’t stand a chance against Strasburg, at best you put pressure with wet grass and maybe force errors and at worst he has a sac bunt. Other than that bad luck/didn’t play well

I didn't say it was all them, just that this isn't a case of the offense just going to sleep.

I do think most of our guys seem to be pressing a bit. And the inability to realize Strasburg was going to the low change in almost every two-strike count tonight was pretty infuriating.

I had no idea Wilson was on the playoff roster. How does that happen

Theo put him on it to try to salvage his trade because he had good numbers against Murphy while his hottest reliever in Rondon was left off and could have been used in the two critical 8th innings this series

Strasburg and Scherzer have combined to pitch almost 60% of the Nationals innings in this series (20/34 when Strasburg was pulled)

No I literally think the reason is that a top 5 pitcher in baseball has pitched 60% of the innings in this series for the Nationals and their top 2 relievers most of the rest of the innings.

When they put in a Solis or Gio Gonzalez or Oliver Perez we've capitalized.

You don't sac bunt in front of the pitcher.

He owns Daniel Murphy, for what that's worth.

Problem is Joe will never let Wilson face Murphy in a key situation

Every time it got to 2 strikes they should’ve kept the bat on the shoulder.

I think he's suggesting Javy try to bunt for a hit. If he reaches there is 2 on and 0 out and you can lift Lester if needed
