But yeah, I've lost about 155 pounds over the last 18 months. Just need to ride this out until Xmas and I should be at 175 (so I'll have essentially lost an entire me, which seems bonkers) and I can start finally eating some real food again.

Congrats man! I've lost 50 lbs since early June (315 lbs at that time) when I got really sick. Getting that sick plus having gout/being sore all the time cuz of my weight/laziness finally made me had enough of that crap. My target weight is 210-220 so I still got another 50ish lbs to go.

Nice! Yeah, it's a total cliche, but it definitely was a whole "sick and tired of being sick and tired" thing. It's nice to be able to do things like actually get a restful night's sleep or not having your knees kill you all the damn time.

Totally. Mine was ankles/toes because of gout. Gout sucks because I basically cut out red meat/beans/shellfish/etc because just enough of that (which didn't take much) would make it flare up like a bitch. Of course, those are things I love to have so there was a little adjustment period. I had my last Coke 3 weekends ago and I can't believe the differences nowadays of not having that crap.

Also no Coke=no alcohol so it's been interesting being sober while watching everyone else gets hammered.

Scherzer did tell Dusty he wants to help out of the pen in G5 if there is one FWIW

None of this matters. We are beating their ass in Game 4 whether it's tonight or tomorrow.

Yeah, I quit drinking for both the blood pressure and the weight loss, and it was weird for a while, but I don't really miss it now. I'd rather save my calories for food.

Yea why are talking about who goes Game 5 for us? We all know it's Hendricks in Game 1 vs the Dodgers.

How healthy is Jake, truly? All the talk has been about the Nats rotation options, but could the Cubs possibly go Hendricks, Lester in games 4 and 5 (if necessary)?

Been there. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. When it first showed up every single joint in my body was on fire and I couldn't even make a fist with either hand. One night I was so scared of the pain that was occurring when I would stand out of a sitting position that I nearly pissed myself on the couch. I woke out of a nap and was about to burst and I laid there for about 10 minutes bracing for what was ahead. I finally got up and staggered to the bathroom, just barely making it in time, practically pulling down my boxers as I entered the room. The next morning I finally went to the hospital and had all the tests done.

I still indulge sometimes but I had to make some of those same changes in my diet. I'll be honest though, I think (just about) everything is fine in moderation. I still love a steak and some sushi. I struggle with cutting out soda completely though.

I have never been terribly overweight either. At the time all of this started happening, I was riding a bike 5 miles to work in the morning, playing basketball on my lunch break, riding my bike another 5 miles to school after work, and riding another 3 miles home from school. I was super active and this horsefeathers just crashed down on me pretty suddenly.

Dusty then went on to talk about his guys all being sick due to the air conditioning in the hotel and mold in Chicago. No I am not joking. Edited by TMan92
