We're 142-70 in the 2nd half the last 3 years.

Our 106-win pace this year in the 2nd half is the worst of the last 3 second-halves. #thats2017Cub

There's still time.

how much credit do we give to joe and our depth for this?

how much is probably just happenstance between maybe easier stretch run schedules (off the top of my head, i doubt that was the case in 2015) and the fact that we've been a very good team for the past 3 seasons?

Speaking of jinxes...I just remembered I gotta buy that dumb Javy Air shirt.

And...presumably, a pair of shorts.

We have to wait for Drinky Joe to get into Mid-season Drunk form each year.

I know you couldn't have gotten it yet, but I really wanted to post this gif when I saw you post that in the 9th inning last night and I wouldn't remember it in a week, so horsefeathers it...

also, low-key smart thing Joe did today, stacking consecutive lefties that he won't care about pinch hitting for. Woodruff has extreme splits in his short MLB time, but he seems like a decent candidate to get knocked out before the 6th too, so Contreras, Happ, and Almora can be ready to counter any LHRP they insert for 5-7 in the lineup

I think we should probably all just come to grips with the idea that Jon Jay is probably going to be starting in the playoffs most of the time.

Yeah good point and it is smart. Counsell is gonna manage this game again like its Game 7 of the World Series, I’d expect Hader to come in pretty early for multiple innings once Woodruff gets in to trouble/reaches a pitch limit/gets PH for.

The average Brewers are 31-31 since the break, while the Super Cubs are 42-22.

so, about that

we lead baseball in hitter WAR post-ASB by more than a little bit

Cubs 14.8

Indians 13.0

we also lead MLB in both OBP & SLG by a fair amount - .351 team wOBA with Indians following up at .343

and Bryant is striking out at just 17% clip; Will's down under 18% (2nd half)

Happ's a +12 UZR/150 CF

long-term forecast for this team probably looks even better now than it did before the start of the season, i'd argue

that's pretty amazing, given the relative disappointments of Schwarber and Russell this season, as well as the continued nightmare of Jason Heyward.

They have a thread going on at brewerfan.net about the toughest Brewers losses...

And this is getting a lot of love:

So what say you? Which one was the most satisfying win between that and last night?

Christ, that feels like yesterday and the fact that its in 4:3 makes me feel really old.

Thats a cubs game i will never forget, though, so Im sticking with it as the most satisfying. Especially since Happ was clearly out so last night really shouldnt have happened.
