Sorry I'm a little late for this one, I took a high fastball off the dome. Cutty is actually winning games for Chicago, guys. Now he'll try to do something else he could never do: Beat the team from Wisconsin.

For the record, I credit the "1st Place Cubs" thread title for getting Schwarber going last night. Now add "Vaunted" to the title and the possibilities are endless. Going for the Cubs will be their newest acquisition, who's probably very glad he got the hell out of the South Side, Jose Quintana:

While taking the mound for the 2nd place Brew Crew will be lefty Brent Suter, who's had a decent enough start to his career. I apologize that such a punchable face GIF was all I could find:

There will be dongs.

I posted this ELEVEN days ago

I was also just looking at the rest of July, and I came with a similar conclusion. If the Cubs finish at worst 2/2.5 back, I'll feel real good.

lol

what's the cubs new hand motion (after the wave) when they get a hit and look back at the dugout?

are they hoisting a trophy or something?

I thought it was supposed to be a darth vader force choke.

Sweeping these bums to 4.5 back with our 3-4-5 pitchers going is just exactly the type of thing I like to root for. Lets do it.

Zobrist's wrist must still be bothering him if he's not facing a LHPs. Either way we have the super defense lineup tonight and there will still be DONGS

this is nitpicking but wouldn't Q be considered our "#2" now? obv doesn't mean anything but he surely would have surpassed jake as second best on the rotation, right? though if second half jake sticks around then it's very close i suppose.

now that i typed that out i realize that was silly. this is second half super cubs and they're all equally #1's

Going to Miller Park tomorrow, I would assume the games should be at least 50/50 Cubs fans.

I should have a six pack of Moon Man down in the parking lot before the game.

The order is relatively meaningless in the regular season, but i would imagine we'd go Lester-Arrieta-Quintana-Hendricks in the playoffs to break up the lefties, even if we think that Quintana is better than Jake. Hence, I consider Q to be #3.
