Surely THIS is the play that turns the season around

Relying on Jon Jay to carry your team's offense is the sneaky new market inefficiency.

We're gonna be 1.5 games back and tied in the loss column of the Brewers about 25 hours from now. Still may get to first place by ourselves by the ASB.

So does the approach of constantly trying to tie it up with 1 swing when a runner is on.

So you want Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo to completely change the approaches that gave them all their big-league success?

Oh please. It's called adaptation. You try to be able to adapt to any situation. And those guys have had plenty of success in their careers when they don't hit high fly balls.

John Jay realized that he needed to homer there and boom, adaption - game tied.

Not a team guy. Should've taken a single and let Bryant drive a guy in too.

You have no idea how much I fought the urge to respond to that post after Jay's HR.

I swear to some kind of god that I have never actually seen Happ do something like he just did there. I mean, I know it happens thanks to Gameday and box scores, but basically every time I've watched the games he's looked like some monster hack-takin' strikeout goober. It's like he's a superhero, yet I somehow keep running into Clark Kent instead of Superman.

Rizzo is so good. A sidearm lefty seems like a really tough matchup for him. Did it look like he backed off the plate there, too?

But he went totally outside of the approach that is apparently ingrained into his entire being.

See, I can do that dumb horsefeathers too.

He's had a bunch of really big games, and then some long streaks of suckiness. But his big games are usually really big, so you just need to tune in for one of them.

We already knew, man.

You guys are damn geniuses. The Cubs should be trying to hit the ball in the air no matter the situation. It is, how they were raised, after all.
