Plugging Old Man Zobrist right back into the cleanup spot seems...faulty.

So does the approach of constantly trying to tie it up with 1 swing when a runner is on.

So you want Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo to completely change the approaches that gave them all their big-league success?

Oh please. It's called adaptation. You try to be able to adapt to any situation. And those guys have had plenty of success in their careers when they don't hit high fly balls.

I was guessing the Cubs have been unlucky with their BABIP and was right to see they are near the bottom at .280. Last year they were at .300

Can anyone smart put together some stats on the Cubs luck this year?

I feel like the Cubs have been one of the 3-4 least lucky teams in baseball this year. Looking at some quick googling, the Cubs are 24th most lucky team with regards to cluster luck, I know their BABIP for and against are both among the worst in the league. Not sure about strand rate or any other factors that might influence luck.

Anyways, my impression is that the Cubs have gone from one of the luckiest team in baseball last year in many factors (though not pythag) to least lucky teams this year.
