i mean, it was with candelario, almora, and baez due up and they walked baez to get to lester sooooooooooo it's probably to be expected

2 hits in 5 innings against some bum named Joe Ross. yuck.

 

Joe Ross is a pretty good pitcher who I have wanted us to target in the past.

 

That said, he's been giving up a lot of dongs this year, despite good peripherals otherwise, kinda like some of our guys.

Seeing that last All Star update thing makes me realize that.......there is a better than 0 chance that Jason Heyward is our only All Star.

 

Bryant, Rizzo and Davis all deserve consideration, but NL 3B include Justin Turner, Nolan Arenado (the likely starter) and Anthony Rendon who all have comparable or better cases than Bryant. At 1B, Freeman (injured), Zimmerman, Goldschmidt and Votto all have strong cases.

 

That said, since Joe has input I'm sure Davis will at least make it.

 

Edit: nevermind looks like Heyward got jumped in the OF. The 2016 champs might have 0 starters in the ASG, and only Bryant selected because the Cubs need a rep.

To be fair, this came after a half inning in which the Nats blew first and third and nobody out with 2-3-4 up.

Yeah I want them all to sit it out. Couldn't care less. Last year we had our fill.

Kinda happy with this, let them get away completely for a few days and rest/get a mental break. It's been a crazy few months for them since the WS. If Davis makes it hopefully Joe doesn't use him and just burns out Jansen and whatever other Dodgers/Nats pitchers make it.
