My favorite part of this ordeal is that he also decided to call out Jason Hammel, who plays for a different team.

Yeah, he said Salvador Perez has only thrown out 1 of 11 base stealers because Hammel won't hold people on... lmao

Miggy was definitely a big part of these good Cubs teams, though. He had a huge role in getting us rolling in 2015. And he was a great presence that year. It's shitty how it ended. But I'll think none of it. I'll remember the playoff heroics and his goofiness and upbeat demeanor when things were going well.

Just let Schwarbs start catching at Iowa.

this is a fun dream but the FO just decreed terrible defense in large part outweighs even a 112 wRC+ for a C

Schwarber would be better at D than Miggy at this point. His arm is solid.

It's also great that he had this stat at his disposal last night. You know he's been keeping tabs on this, feeling sorry for his fellow catchers that had the misfortune of dealing with what he's been dealing with.

I've watched this more than any other highlight of last year's playoffs.

Off the top of my head this was the second most nuts I went in last year's playoff run. Definitely will always remember for the big hits and good vibes.

Buck's call there is great. And I still watch so many highlights from last year, its not funny. And on a tangent of last years highlights, if I NEVER have to hear Pat Hughes shitty ass WS winning call again, I'll be just fine.

That grand slam was horsefeathering majestic. I was frustrated because we just blew a 3-1 lead, and feeling hopeless after Miggy went down 0-2 and missed a hanger the pitch before and then all the sudden a majestic shot into the night.

On a side note, it is just incredible that we have so many postseason moments to pick and choose from now where pre-2015, all I had was Kerry Wood hitting a HR in a game that we were eliminated in. OK there were a few more but for the longest time there was hardly anything. Now I can watch 20 minutes of straight highlights of awesome things the Cubs have done in the last 2 postseasons.

montero on with bernstein and goff now

miggy's cell started to break up when goff asked him directly about what rizzo said and how contreras has no problem throwing guys out

Theo is out for blood now, what other vet do we have at the end of a contract that sometimes likes to make an ass of themselves... hmmm ...

So how do we go about getting Lackey to publicly whine about his teammates?

Have him pitch to Victor his next 5 starts and just let him have that heart attack he's been gunning for

*Arm hairs still stand up after watching for like the 900th time*

Yes, this was such an awesome moment (this, the Javy HR, and when the Cubs won the NL are pretty close to how emotional I get when seeing the final out of the WS). Miggy has such a sexy swing when he gets into a HR. And, like sammy said, he knows how to pimp it a bit.

I'll think of him fondly for those memories but i'm not really that sad to see him go.

Has Miggy's twitter banner always been him and Arrieta with Hammel in it as well?

pretty sure that's james russell, not hammel.
