It actually was five games. But it came against two teams just as mediocre or even more mediocre than us, and it took multiple late comebacks to even do it.

Between Addison Russell, the very mediocre play on the field, accusing opponents of taking steroids, and the presence of John Lackey, the 2017 Cubs are quite unlikable.

Yeesh. I know the opponents get a bit easier but after this series the Cubs play 17 of their next 20 on the road where they are 3-13 in their last 16 games.

This following a stretch where they played 19 of 25 at home and are only 12-11 so far.

I don't care how easy the schedule appears. This team got swept by the Padres. No opponent is easy for this team.

Yeah. And we haven't really dominated anybody this season, so I have no extra confidence going against a middle of the road team like the Mets.

Yeah, I'm struggling to feel super optimistic about this team suddenly turning it around; if it was just the starting pitching or the offense underperforming, fine...but that it's both? And that a team that was SO good defensively (and projected, like the offense, to dominate again this year) has seen that regress so much, too? It just seems like they need to turn so much around, and now it's a third of the way into the season. Edited by Sammy Sofa

The Brewers suck. The whole division sucks. We've played pretty much the worst we could possibly play and we're 1 game out. The Brewers got a month of Barry Bondsian production out of a guy who strikes out every other AB now, and they are still a .500 team. They blow. And the talent disparity is still ridiculous, even if it's not as huge as we once thought it was. I'm not scared whatsoever by any team in our division. We'll be resting guys for a full week in September.
