They should take a star off of Schwarber's earlier catch for that play. Wow I don't blame him too much for not making that catch the way the winds are and how far he had to come but that wild flip was absolutely terrible.

Oh look and now they realize that baseball is not playable after the Brewers are able to basically take control of the game.

Game should've been stopped when it was 3-2.

Yes but then the wind and rain died down after that half inning and then suddenly picked back up when the Cubs came back out to pitch. Weird day, it seems like Wrigley Field is actively trying to sabotage the Cubs today. Must be because all our dongers were destroying Budweiser signs and batters eyes earlier in the week during BP.

We NEED a starter. Its not Butler or Montgomery.

I don't really think 5th starter is ever a need worthy of all caps. Either guy is fine.

I mean we won 98 games with Dan haren and like traviyoshiton wodachard

Well, it helped that Hendricks was Maddux reborn, Lackey found the fountain of youth and Jake wasn't garbage for the entire season.

You have your seasons confused because none of that happened in 2015

Ah, like I give a hot damn. The starting rotation is a nightmare this season compared to 2015 or 2016, and it badly needs help.

The point is we need more than a 5th starter.

I don't think we *need* anything. We will win this division fairly easily when all is said and done.

Still think we need another front line starter to pair with Lester. And obviously SP is a major need going forward with losing Arrieta and the mouth breather after this year.

Well, the starting pitching looks horrendous, that's just going to wear down the bullpen, the defense is worse...so they better dong a wholllllllllllllllle lot more.

We could certainly use a few things to get even better but I have little to no fear of not winning the division and especially not making the playoffs.

Winning the division is one thing...beating Scherzer or Kershaw in a short series with our pitching as it stands is a tall task

I wouldn't be quite so confident, considering this team is one injury away from a complete mess of a starting rotation. We already see how bad their #5 options are, so what happens if we have to plug two of those guys in?

I know this is a tougher sell after the best team in baseball actually won the world series last year for once, but the playoffs are a crapshoot (think about how lucky we got on numerous occasions btw).

I will bet you field vs cubs at even money for the nl central. Whatever amount you name.

It probably would've stopped if Montgomery could have gotten out of the inning.

I agreed with Heyward. The conditions were as bad when Montgomery was pitching in the 5th as when Baez/Schwarber misplayed that pop up.

I don't disagree that the Cubs are still the favorite, but that doesn't make winning the division (or even making the playoffs) a foregone conclusion. I still think the Cubs will win the division, but my level of concern is certainly higher now than it was at the beginning of April.

Right, they should still be the favorites, but I don't think it's unrealistic to think that its not quite the lock it was. Much weirder things have happened.

I mean, sure, I agree. I'm just saying I'm confident enough in it that I'll give you even money on the field. That's a pretty overwhelming favorite.
