i dont understand why people care how sociable their athletes are. I guess for Quarterbacks it matters more than for most, but it just doesn't affect me whatsoever.

You answered your own question. Sure, it doesn't matter if the fans like him personally, but from a football perspective it's very important his teammate do or at the very least respect him and don't feel he's throwing them under the bus.
