Get beat by 70. Anything to possibly get Pace reconsider bringing back Fox.

Why do we think Fox is the problem again?

Disinterested team, lack of running game despite high quality RB, crappy OC, feud with talented DC who will likely bolt in the offseason, poorly handled personnel situations (PED suspensions, Ray McDonald, that crazed DT whose name escapes me), W-L record...

The guy has taken two different teams to Super Bowls. He's clearly an adequate coach. I'd rather not turn into the Browns or 49ers where we're switching course every year or two. Until this team gets more talent, I don't see a reason to pay another buyout.

Obviously unlikely to happen but if Howard can get 170 rushing yards on Sunday he will have the most rushing yards in a season by a Bear since Walter Payron in 1985. Not bad considering he didn't play in week 1 and didn't have 10 carries in a game until week 4

Update: 10 mins left in 3rd and he has 122 yards on the ground so 48 yards away

He's also had crazy talented teams that went to the SB. We're about to have the first season in Bears franchise history with less than 4 wins iirc. He hasn't done anything since he was hired and has got worse imo.

In other related news... I don't even want Barkley back as a backup. Just re-sign Hoyer and draft a QB or 2 or 5 and let them compete.

Locking up the 3rd seed gives them a shot at Trudisky if he declares (which he should), Kizer or Garrett. So that's cool.

Don't forget about Allen as well. The more I watch him, the more I like him. Him, Goldman, Hicks plus Bullard is just crazy good.

Yep. Allen is my second favorite player in the draft.

Well, teams that make the Super Bowl tend to be very talented. I'm not saying he's some type of coaching genius, but his performance doesn't make me want to start over with an entire new coaching staff again. He's not particularly old, either.

None of which are good enough to waste a first round pick on especially with the talent at QB coming in the 2018 draft. Give me Jonathan Allen or Myles Garrett.

Any disagreements?

OT should be higher.

Depending on what happens with Alston, I think WR could move up quite a bit too. I'd probably move TE down a bit. Not because we aren't in need, but because its a bit less important than the other spots.

It really looks like a weak FA class too. But I'd suspect we can fill some defensive backfield slots from it effectively. To my knowledge, there's no OT help though.

Are there any tackles worth taking early in the 1st?

Cam Robinson is a top 10ish type guy, but has some character concerns. If McGlinchey comes out(to my knowledge he's still uncommitted), he's another guy that's top 10-15. But those are likely the only 2 1st Rounders.

A lot of those needs are either/or propositions.

2 CBs aren't necessary. 1 good one would be sufficient. The Bears have some young guys that have shown various levels of promise. Callahan, Hall, Fuller, LeBlanc. Then Porter has shown to be serviceable for the most part.

Same goes for just 1 safety. The Bears have Amos, Bush, and Jones-Quartey who are all SS's. Put them next to a good FS and let the best man win the job.

I don't think the Bears need a DE and a NT. They play nickel with 2 DL 60% of the time. Goldman and Hicks are going to get the most snaps (if healthy). Bullard hopefully will step up and be the 3rd part of that rotation. In the base D, you can either add a DE (better than Bullard) or add a NT and move Goldman to DE (I like this idea).

OLB isn't a huge "need". Another one would be nice as McPhee missed a lot of the year and Young is over 30. But not something they have to go crazy for.

Same with TE. Miller has an injury history, but it's not a hugely important position.

WR isn't a need if you re-sign Jeffery.

Anybody like Malik Hooker at 3 if he declares and Garrett and Allen are off the board?

I don't like any safety at 3. But if I did.......

If I were the Bears I'd still take him at the 3.

Depending on the status of his hip surgery, Ryan Ramczyk seems more well thought of than Cam Robinson. If he turned pro, Oklahoma's Orlando Brown looks like the only legit top ten offensive lineman.
