Might as well get a thread up. This might be the worst Bears season of our lifetimes and yet I feel a little sad its over because football offseasons are so damn long. I know people get excited about playoffs, draft, OTAs, training camp, preseason etc but for me I'm in different to much of that besides the playoffs and the week of the draft.

The Vikings started out 5-0 and then completely collapsed going 2-8 since then. They were just eliminated from the playoffs and their defensive players were openly defying coaching in their last week. It is going to be tough because I think the Minnesota players have quit on the season, but the Bears really need to lose this to clinch the 3rd pick and not slide down to 6.

I'm not even the least bit sad about the season ending.

Bring on pitchers and catchers al-horsefeathering-ready.

I'll start caring about football again either when FA starts or a few days before the draft.

Skol Vikings, honor your name,

Go get that first down,

Then get a touchdown.

Rock 'em . . . Sock 'em

Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!

Go Vikings, run up the score,

You'll hear us yell for more. . .

V-I-K-I-N-G-S

Skol, Vikings, let's go!

Here's a fun fact. The Bears have won every 4th game this season, and ONLY every 4th game.

Preseason? Bears start 0-3, win their 4th preseason game vs. the Browns.

Regular season? Bears lose to Texans, Eagles and Cowboys to start 0-3.....before winning the 4th game vs. the Lions.

Bears then go on a 3-game losing streak (Colts, Jags, Packers) before getting an improbable win over the 5-1 Vikings

Bears go on another 3-game losing streak (Bucs, Lions, Titans) before ending that streak with a win over the 49ers.

The Bears have since lost 3 straight and are currently on a 3-game losing streak.

I didn't watch a complete NFL game this year. Hell, I didn't watch a full quarter of NFL football this year.

The Cubs being what they were was the only reason that was really possible though.

Is it just me or does a 1st and a 4th not sound outrageous for Garoppolo? I mean he might not be enough of a proven QB to be actually worth that, but I'm guessing based on his Patriots pedigree and how he played at the start of this year that this is a fair market value. I mean a 1st and 4th is basically what the Eagles got for Sam Bradford at the start of the year.

why not just wait until he's a free agent?

Yeah someone is going to cave and roughly give that for him. Like you mentioned looking at what Bradford cost, the price for the Rams to trade up for Goff and the overall suckage of QBs in the draft. Someone is gonna give that.

The thing about giving up a 1st is that the teams that are most likely to trade for him are picking in the top 10. I don't think anyone is trading a top 10 pick for Jimmy G. The Bradford trade is not really comparable because A) it was done right before the season and B) it was done by a team that had Superbowl aspirations and lost their QB. I'm sure the Vikings figured the pick they were giving up would be somewhere in the mid-to-late 20s at worst.

If I'm the Cleveland Browns, I'd offer a 2nd and 3rd round pick. Mind you, their 2nd rounder will be the 1st pick of the round, so as good as a 1st. If the Patriots come back asking for the Rams pick the Browns have in the 1st.....I'd counter with both the 2nd round picks they have (also the Rams' 2nd). No other team can match that honestly. And it'd still leave the Browns with two top 10 picks, including #1 overall.

What happened to Hoyer? He was playing great until he broke his arm.

Yuck, I'd rather watch Barkley throw up picks than Hoyer, at least he's fun-bad. Hoyer is just bad. He puts up the emptiest stats I've ever seen and he's so boring to watch all while barely helping the team.

A lot of the reason this team put up yards but didn't score is exemplified by every hoyer game. Lot of dink and dunk while trailing but unable to put ball in endzone where soft tossing doesn't work.

Get beat by 70. Anything to possibly get Pace reconsider bringing back Fox.

Why do we think Fox is the problem again?

He's way too conservative, in my opinion. Is horrible with clock management. May lose Fangio, a more valuable coach to me, for him. May lose Alshon due to his not getting along with him too.

Disinterested team, lack of running game despite high quality RB, crappy OC, feud with talented DC who will likely bolt in the offseason, poorly handled personnel situations (PED suspensions, Ray McDonald, that crazed DT whose name escapes me), W-L record...
