Maybe my homer goggles are on but I keep seeing the replay of the 4th down. There is no way he got the first down. The only reason it looks close is because of the camera angle. If you focus on where his body is and then imagine the camera even with the 15 yard line, it doesn't look like he gets to 15. Such a shame. Yes I'm still not over it.

No one thinks he got that first down.

The entire game was terribly called. The refs only called PI against Michigan.

ESPN surprisingly hasn't made that big of a deal about it. I figured they would CNN the heck out of it.

A Lot of ESPN talking heads putting Big Ten champ in over OSU. So they are advocating 2 of the top 4 teams in the country not making the playoffs.

I would kind of understand Penn State over OSU since they beat OSU. But you can't put a 2-loss Wisconsin in over a 1-loss OSU when OSU won at Wisconsin, even though it was OT. Had it been in Columbus, then you have an argument.

notre dame gooning it up smh

I honestly wouldn't give a rat's ass if Tillery were thrown off the team. Both those actions were utterly inexcusable and dirty as hell.

At the same time, they're not going to fire a coach that went 4-8 against the worst schedule in school history and is now actively trying to leave, so why should I give a horsefeathers about anything

So now Bama is a shoo-in even if they lose. I'm kind of rooting for the doomsday scenario of Bama-Clemson-Washington losses. Do 3 B1G teams get in?

Lol I can't see any way 3 big ten teams get in especially when 2 of them didn't even play in the conference title game.

I've been seeing Michigan Twitter coming up with scenarios where Michigan gets in but while they seem plausible I'm not going to get my hopes up at all. It's not happening

For me, Michigan should be ahead of Penn State unless Penn St annihilates Wisconsin similar to what OSU did a couple years ago. At least by score, Wisconsin and Michigan were close. But Penn State winning a conference title doesn't outweigh a 49-10 beating.

So let's say Florida beats Bama, Ok State beats OU and wins the Big 12, Virginia Tech beats Clemson, Colorado beats Washington and PSU beats Wisconsin. Who are your 4 playoff teams?

Gotta figure Bama is still in there, and OSU is an easy pick despite not playing in the conference championship. Do you leap PSU over Michigan and put them 3rd? Does Colorado leap all the way from 9th to 4th over Michigan and Wisconsin? Does Ok State leap like 8 teams into the top 4?

I'd say that's a realistic scenario where the top 4 ends up Bama-OSU-Michigan-PSU, and everyone hates everything with PSU being the only conference champion in the mix.

They lost to Iowa so that argument is moot. Penn State has just one conference loss to Michigan's two. PSU's second loss was a 3 point loss to Pitt back in week two. I don't think the Michigan head to head win holds up if PSU beats Wisconsin

Iowa and Pitt are both 8-4 so those losses are pretty much a wash. The week they lost in doesn't matter. If PSU had been competitive in the Mihigan game, then I'd give them the nod, like I would with Wisconsin if they win the conference.

PSU also has the worse non-conference as well as the worse draw in the cross division games (both played Iowa, Illinois/Purdue is a wash but Wisconsin > Minnesota).

Stronger non-con win + stronger conference schedule + blowout H2H win > conference title game to me.

EDIT: I tend to agree that in the committee's mind, it won't hold up. That's the way I think it should go rather than the way it will go.

The oddest thing is, Alabama-OSU-Michigan are still pretty clearly the 3 best teams in the country. Strongest resumes by far, best differentials by far.

4th spot is a tossup between Clemson and Washington, with Oklahoma and Wisconsin close behind.

After that, nobody else is close.

Don't get your hopes up, though. They aren't going to take a two-loss non-champ (UM) unless a whole lot of crap goes wonky on Saturday
