Maybe Travis prefers to come in with the bases clean, too?

The secret is that Travis Wood just isn't very good.

Yeah. Okay. Sigh. This blows.

It's not that there are six-run home runs; hitting the ball into the stands is automatically six runs. There are no other kinds of home runs in cricket.

Here's a story I'm embarrassed about because it makes me a bad fan: I want the Cubs to win the World Series and I will be disappointed if they don't. So in order to make myself better deal with them possibly losing I went and signed up at Bovada after the series was tied 1-1. I figured I would be more than happy to pay $600 for the Cubs to win the Series, but if they didn't, I'd at least get $1,400 to cry with.

But my credit card wouldn't go through, I think because it's not set up for international charges maybe since Bovada is in Canada. So the Cubs might end up losing the World Series and I will have nothing to cry with. That's what I get for being a mentally weak fan.

Not sure why I'm sharing this, but I felt guilty and maybe by not living a lie the Cubs will start winning or something.

Which makes last nights 1-0 loss even more tough to take.

I work hard to maintain my composure, but last night I was about as mad about a Cubs game as I've ever been.

They hit at least 3 balls today off kluber and miller that would've been home runs yesterday and they could get it out of the inflield against some phucking scrub who gave up more home runs that 99% of the league. Yeah that irritated me.

Prior to last night's game, USSoccer was taking heat for thinking that the wind blowing out would negatively affect the approach of our young hitters. I didn't think it would, but watching the game and looking at the percentage of swings they took at pitches outside of the zone, I think that's exactly what happened.

Being beaten outright I can accept, but giving away a game you should win by abandoning the approach that brought you success all year is just infuriating.

vince vaughn did a better job singing the stretch than he did in any single scene in true detective

I agree. He did it as good as pre-stroke Harry would have done.

Was v disappointed in Bill Murray last night.

You'll be fine, buddy. There many things in your life that are far, far more important than the Cubs winning.

Only four hits/walks and then a homer ties the game. Joe Buck can feel it coming!

Kinda the story of the series - we aren't playing the same game. We're not approaching at bats the same and we're not playing shut-down defense; every error gets magnified in Oct, but we pretty much imploded tonight.

Who takes responsibility for this - players, Mallee, Maddon, front office?

is everyone still excited to possibly face Kluber again?

Very much so. Kluber's stuff wasn't nearly as good and the Cubs hit him far better. Making a 3rd start in 9 days would amplify both of those things, I'd expect 3 runs in 5-6 innings.
