Must be [expletive] nice to have an extra 3-6 inches tacked on the strikezone. Call me a meatball, but my eye-test showed the dodgers pitchers getting at least 10 calls that the cubs pitchers didn't.

Jansen got 2 strikes out of the zone and no balls called in the zone

Kershaw got 2 strikes out of the zone and 2 balls called in the zone

Hendricks got 1 strike out of the zone and 3 balls called in the zone

Chapman got 0 strikes out of the zone and 1 balls called in the zone

So -6 on strikes for the Cubs today. I have no idea what the normal deviance is.

i would bet a lot of money that we dont come back from LA

Do you ever make it through the day without breaking down in tears?

Please don't get sucked into starting Heyward vs two lefties because it's a huge NL West park, Joe. At least give me Almora if you're that concerned about it.

Kershaw's definitely coming back in Game 5, right? Only threw 84 pitches tonight.

i'd say yes, so robets would probably use him multiple innings in a game 7

Not sure if being pessimistic or optimistic. Gonna guess based on the poster optimistic

Two days of nonsense about how the Cubs should totally definitely be worried is going to be annoying.

Or you could just avoid sports talk.

Seriously. I don't know how anyone can watch that stuff after a Cubs loss. I'll be focusing on work til 6:30 on Tuesday.

Do you ever leave your parents house and go outside?

That was a pretty pitiful performance by our offense. Didn't work counts deep. Didn't make hard contact. Didn't make adjustments against Jansen. Seriously, he throws HARD. You have to shorten up your swing and try to string hits together.

Come on, guys.

This is garbage analysis. You can't work deep counts if the opposing pitcher doesn't throw pitches out of the zone. You can't shorten your swing and make hard contact at the same time, and you continue to have no clue as to how offensive players actually do things.

Yeah, Kershaw was in the zone all night, with only a couple of brief lapses. Not much you can do.

Man that's as frustrating as it gets. Rizzo hits one long gone but foul. Baez hits one that is a HR 67% of the time. Agonz HR wasn't even hit that hard it seemed like.

But before I start complaining about terrible luck, we had 3 total base runners in the game and none past second and they stranded a lot.

Hopefully the bats get hot in LA. I know we've scored our share of runs but it really doesn't feel like we are firing on all cylinders.

I'm gonna be a pessimist and predict only 2 wins in LA. I wouldn't put it past them to win all 3 though

How do you feel about arietta and lackey right now? Real confident? Then we'd get Kershaw in LA in game 5. It's likely we take one of those games but if someone gave me odds we go 0-3 in LA I would definitely take it

Score be damned, this sure felt like one of the most one-sided losses in quite some time.

It wouldn't have been if ONE of our horsefeathering deep drives left the park.

If Baez is .10 seconds early on his fly ball, we win 2-1.

So frustrating. But we got pretty luck last night with Montero, too.

I hate the Lackey start

I have no faith in our offense right now. You can't hide These slumping bats

Good point; it's been a whole 24 hours since they scored 8.

I don't think we can count on 9th inning grand slams going forward. This offense has been bad the entire postseason

Because I was curious, the Cubs were +2 on strikes yesterday, +0 before Rondon entered in the bottom of the 9th.

I'm as negative as they come and even I like our chances with Jake vs. One Pitch Rich.

We'll be up 3-2 coming home.

It's not like a grand slam scores 8 runs; it's been up and down. It seems a tad premature to be writing the team off in a series where they're 1-1 and just lost 1-0.

Wouldn't take much given how bad jake and lackey have been, combined with our struggling offense going into a cavernous ballpark.
