let's not go acting like im rondon fan here. Im confident when the team inspires confidence. Saying "id bet money they dont come back to chicago" isnt the same as saying "i dont think they'll come back to chicago." When you go to vegas do you only bet games you think you'll win?

 

You said if you were given +200 on the Dodgers winning all three games in LA means you think it's a 1 in 3 chance of happening. That's about a 70% chance of winning each game, which is ridiculous.

If there's some reason(s) they don't want Contreras catching Arritea, I'd like to see Ross catch, Zobrist in RF and Soler or Contreras in LF for game 3. Let everyone keep hitting about where they have been in the order.

luckily for me, real life is going to intervene and my monday and tuesday are horrifically busy. Unfortunately for everyone else, my wed-sunday is pretty wide open. I'll try and tone it down, but i still claim this thread as mine

He's not wrong. Losing HFA in a 2-3-2 isn't good. Our 3-5 hitters being completely garbage isn't good. The only guys consistently hitting are Baez and Bryant and that's a problem.

 

We aren't going to win this series without getting production from Rizzo, Zobrist, Russell and Heyward.

 

The flip side of that is that we're bad luck away from being 2-0, the pitching matchups are generally in our favor and we are the more talented team. I still think we come back up 3-2.

i feel like bryant got completely screwed over on (at least) 2 at bats tonight. Id really like to have those two at bats over. I know that's what you get when you face a guy like kershaw but he and dex are the two guys i felt most comfortable with against kershaw and getting 25 percent of their at bats messed with by a weird ump is pretty upsetting.

Besides, your tea leaves probably had our pre-ASB slump never ending, and ultimately fighting the Brewers for 5th place.

 

But FWIW, Kyle and Fan are not at all alike. Fan represents every reactionary fan with a hair social media trigger who calms down as quickly as he exploded. And whether or not he 'ruins the game thread experience' of his fellow posters, he'd never willfully drag them into his well of despair, which he probabaly vacates following the game. Kyle, on the other hand, enjoys his well, and if it were up to him, he'd suck us all down with him and feast upon our souls.

It's actually very illuminating to learn that the average OPS of playoff teams this year is about .600 - which makes sense and contextualizes our own offensive frustrations.

 

And of course in 2/3 of our games we've scored an above average of runs, so, whatever
