Funny thing is that in an interview on ESPN 1000 this week jake was asked his optimal defense when pitching and he listed Contreras as catcher. Not that it means anything.

I think we are looking too hard for excuses for Jake, but I will defer to the people I've quoted whose opinions I trust

who is making excuses? we're just grasping at straws to try to optimize his starts as much as possible.

He probably understands that his son was a [expletive] drunk too.

for a few seconds i had forgotten about the todd hundley post and i was beyond confused

my hot take of the day - the brewers will finish at least 3rd next year, ahead of the pirates. maybe 2nd.

That is for sure a hot take.

i'd be even more confident in it if broxton hadn't killed his wrist yesterday

So we score 3 runs before making the first out and then don't score again despite wind blowing heavily out. Yep definitely hung over

Could be decent if they can get some pitching. 3rd is not an outrageous reach

I'd go into why I don't think they will, but then I'd be saying everything you already know considering it's a hot take.

I think the pitching rotation will be pretty much the same next year, except without perhaps Matt Garza. I'd assume they'd bring up Josh Hader at some point and he's got a lot of potential, but he's still just a pitching prospect.

Gonna give haubrich until noon to get the next thread up; if it's not up by then I'll start my run of glory that will take us through the end of the season.
