God Heyward is back to being an auto out. Even when starting an AB 3-0. Guess you can survive on a healthy diet of weak grounders finding holes and bloop hits that fall in.

Maddon has rather quietly moved him down to 7th the last few games

i saw Lester got out of the 7th and did like a quick chore and was going to check the 9th but the game is already over

good job i guess

edit: Chapman had a 6 pitch 9th? well that explains that

Lester could die in the offseason in some bizarre way that means we still have to like burn the money we would have given him over the remainder of his contract and it still would have been worth it.

It's much easier to find good brisket outside of Texas than it is to find good deep dish outside of Chicago.

That's because there's no such thing as bad brisket.

My greatest shame is the first brisket I ever made.

I miss everything about Chicago except for the pizza.

Well, the thin crust was great, but I got burned out on Chicago deep dish real fast.

it is a rare thing for me, and even then i'm sick of it before the end of the meal.

For me, the big thing is how much I hate it as leftovers. I'm the kind of slob that loves a good cold pizza, and Pequod's was the only place that had a deep dish that I could tolerate either cold or reheated, and even that wasn't so great. Real Chicago style deep dish just seems too chewy and rubbery unless I was willing to bake it in the oven forever, and usually it would still end up being too mushy or soup-y. Leftover pizza should either be delicious cold or require only minimal reheating; deep dish I only like when it's freshly made (even delivery was usually a letdown), and like you said, after a slice or two I'm over it.

Look here you sonofabitch, I'm deprived of delicious deep dish pizza and have to work to avoid the terribleness that provel cheese. You take back your ambivalence toward deep dish or I'm going to get someone to force feed you Imo's till you puke!

Reminds me of Starlin at the beginning of last season. He had 20-something RBI's early b/c of multiple seeing-eye grounders that sneaked through the infield for basehits. The BABIP luck crashed & burned shortly thereafter, until the position change late in the season when he finally started raking.
