If more than 1 of your email addresses gets selected though, I would only use 1 of them to purchase tickets. Unless you use different addresses and credit cards. But if you use the same CC and/or address, they may cancel both your orders.

My 4th email was a winner

Not being ticket police here, but just asking for future reference. How did you use 4 emails? Don't they specify only 1 entry per person?

Each email address u use is considered "1 person." There's nothing stopping you from making a couple hundred different emails and thus being looked at as a few hundred separate people signing up.

I think it's more than just that - I think they look at names/addresses/something else as well. I registered with my personal email, work email, wife's email and son's email - the only email that didn't get a response was my work email (which had the same info as my personal email, whereas the wife and son's email were different names, obviously).

After having sucesss with the getting the board involved after I tweeted Len and JD/ Bruce miles about Freds passing. I'm hoping to to get a couple up votes for a much less serious matter. Stubhub screwed me over on Saturday and didn't live up to there "Seat Guarantee". I've had success using reedit and twitter to remedy disputes with other companies before.

I can't believe they didn't get you another SRO ticket or an upgraded seat ticket. I know it's the NLCS but they usually are really good about it. Maybe they will make it right and give you a game 6 ticket if it goes that far.

Really? I've heard nothing but horror stories about Stubhub cancelling orders and only offering a small amount in compensation (aka not enough to purchase tickets to that game). Of course on the internet you are probably more likely to hear the bad stories than the good ones.

mdwilla, I would probably keep calling back and seeing if you can get a stubhub rep that is particularly sympathetic and generous. Short of that, I'd cause a stink on social media and see if it gets you anywhere.

Well, I'm just going by personal experience. It was awhile back in 2010. I bought Bears tickets, the dude kept the hard tickets and went into the game(or sold those too). The hard tickets were good because they got scanned before mine. I called Stub Hub and had new tickets within 15 minutes.

I know that my nephew recently had a positive experience with them on the Chance The Rapper show. Some sort of mixup that got his order canceled. StubHub came through with upgraded tickets for his whole group.

Stubhub pretty much lost my business once they stopped showing all-inclusive prices in searching for tickets. Not sure what growth hacking dummy thought that was a good idea, but "let's make ourselves just like Ticketmaster when we have no moat to prevent competitors from doing the right thing and benefitting" is not a formula for success.

Agreed that the default lack of transparency is annoying, but it's very easy to make two clicks and have the prices show the all in cost.

It's not hard, but it's a frustrating way to shop if you're price conscious(which I imagine a lot of secondary market buyers are). Especially when I can just as easily go to SeatGeek and see the all-in pricing from multiple outlets and have similar or even better selection.

I'm pretty sure it was accident on stub hubs part but they ended up giving me a $100 off coupon which was the first offer. I kept after them through Dm on twitter and was told I would be given my money back and the full amount of my order in coupon form for my next purchase. Somewhere along the line my account was credited with both.

196.00 SR0 purchase after fee

100 coupon

296.00 in total credits. Used them to grab a SRO for game 1 in Ohio for $192.50 after credits.

Really hope you are there in person to see the Cubs first World Series game in 71 years thanks to Stub Hubs mess up!

Does anyone know if I can sell tickets I bought through the lottery after I buy them? It just says I can't transfer the "opportunity"

Yes, but read the fine print. You can only sell them at face value and only to me.

please tell me you are going to sell one and then use the money to fly to chicago and attend the game

Current plan: Try to buy the max of 4 tickets, sell two, fly to Chicago tomorrow, go on Cubs twitter and offer a ticket at face value to anyone willing to let me sleep on their couch.

That said, for those of you who have actually gotten tickets through the lotteries, how crazy is the actual opportunity to buy tickets? Have many of you been able to actually get any?

I'm confused - is there another lottery occurring for NLCS tix?

I got an email last night telling me I'd been selected to have an opportunity to buy tickets to games 6+7 at Wrigley, so I'm assuming that's what that is.

Nice, congrats! Last year I got the same "second batch" email and was able to grab a ticket right behind the Cubs dugout (113 or 114 or so) for Game 4. Anecdotal, obviously, but I was thinking that these tickets were seats that were unused by players/corporate sponsors, etc.

For people that won the lottery, is the buying process a virtual waiting room type of thing where you can open 100 browsers?

I did that, but I got in right away so I don't think it works the same way (though I wasn't gonna be in chicago - just wanted to see what it was like).

Thanks. That sounds encouraging.

I would open multiple windows. For the NLDS I won the lottery and opened a ton of windows. 1 got through fairly quickly (maybe 2 minutes) and the rest got through about 4-5 minutes later. On Wednesday I tried to purchase WS tickets after winning the Indians lottery. Did the same thing, but none of the windows got through for about 6 minutes. At that point, I wasn't able to get through and got shut out. All of the windows got through within about 30 seconds of each other. The single window I had open on my phone was the first through over all the windows open on my computer.

If you want to make sure you can go, I would try to just buy 2. If the site is running slow and you try for 4 and get the dreaded "Tickets not available in your requested location and quantity" you're kind of screwed. If the site is functioning or you get through the VWR within the first 2 minutes or so, you should be good requesting a larger quantity.

Good luck.
