Geez 2nd time in 4 days I've gone to bed with the Cubs losing late and they won. This team..lol

Same, and this game sounds all kinds of awesome and dramatic.

On another note....Heyward looks so much more comfortable lately, not just the results but the PAs. He was holding up against velocity really well in that Dodgers series, just missing Baez a bunch of times in the PAs I saw and fouling them back. As exciting as this year is, to think this [expletive]' team can get a lot better just by him being even his usual self at the plate.

He doesn't even need to be his usual self. If he can just be sort of run-of-the-mill bad at the plate instead of what we got from him for the first 4.5 months, it makes us that much better.

hi cranky pants.

His dog must have gotten skunked again.

Nah, I doused the entire back yard in repellent. not a single skunk in sight, not even a hare.

unfortunately the same exact repellent repels dogs, so now the dog won't even go into the back yard. has to use the bathroom in the front.

worth it.

I feel that Zaztrizzizziny (whatever) deserves a bit more credit for escaping a bases loaded, 0 out jam. He was looking rattled to the point where the inning could have been huge, but he fought out of it. Might have even saved himself a bus ride to Iowa, if for no other reason than to bring in a fresh arm after a long night.

Just went through the Pitch f/x data to see how the zone looked last night.

For the Pirates pitchers:

Strikes called a ball - 3

Balls called a strike - 11

For the Cubs pitchers:

Strikes called a ball - 9

Balls called a strike - 4

So he was equally shitty for both teams.

Edited I read that wrong
